I live Massachusetts but I don't have the stereotypical "Boston Accent", thank god. I don't really have an accent I guess?

New Jersey/New York, American accent.

Where I live, it's on the border of NYC but still in New Jersey.

So, for example, I say dog as "dawg", but we don't stress the "w" as bad as the New Yorkers do.

We also say candle as "cah-n-dle", but stress the "cah" more nasally.

It's hard to explain.

Mine is a mixture of Central Pennsylvania, General American, and a basic-sounding Southern American.

Everyone has an accent. In California we would call our speech "normal" just like those people on TV. However, if you and I were to be living in the South, then we would say our southern accent is "normal", while the Californians would have their Californian, or surfer accent.

I've had people tell me I have no accent. I just sound plain I guess, but maybe it's because I live in the south and have no southern accent.

Haha I specifically told you so you would kidnap me but you haven't done it yet lol.

It never really struck me that I had an accent until I was talking to my German friend. He said that he wanted to speak english with a California accent before he would go back to Germany. My thoughts were that this is just how people speak, its kinda plain but I'm used to it and I've never heard anyone say that Californians had an accent before that. Also when I lived it Texas I noticed I started to pick up on a southern accent but thankfully that is gone.

I used to/should have a Strong Manchester accent, but because I've spent so long talking to American people, I've developed some american characteristic. Every new person I meet asks me if I'm american aswell, it's crazy!

I have a Minesooooota accent. Only very slight, though also with a mix of West Coast accent (sounds sort of Hispanic-like to me).
