My accent is a mix of Estuary with a hint of Yorkshire that still lingers- I moved from the Sheffield area to London when I was younger. I refuse to record myself speaking, because I'm another on the list of people who sound like a child in recordings.

ETA: And I'm so fascinated when American accents seem to cover huge areas, while here in the UK there are towns that will have multiple accents associated with them.

It is really interesting, I mean if you look at a county such as Yorkshire, it's tiny comparing to an average state in America (geographical size and population), yet there's about so many different Yorkshire dialect floating about whilst almost everyone in the same American state would have the same dialect.

Its a hard word to say okay! I am glad you enjoyed, awesome thread btw.

If I'm not explicitly attending to it my Australian accent can creep up on me, but as a rule I'll try to sound English.

PANTIES? Hahaha. Awesome attempt at the posh English accent, though you have to be careful not to speak like that outside of Chelsea (wealthy part of London), or the rest of us poor people will throw mushy peas and chicken pies at yo face

well if i am speaking Spanish to a Mexican person i sound Mexican but if i am speaking to anyone from south American i sound Colombian. reason being is my mother is Mexican and my father is Colombian. in English i have a general American accent with the occasional southern words or phrases popping up.

It depends on my mood:

happy/manic/focused: Topanga Valley accent (the infamous "valley girl" accent)
pissed/businesslike/relaxed: Manhattan (NYC)

the rest of the time: stoned Northern Californian (SoCal clipped with a healthy dose of "duuuuude" )
