I feel guilty for anything I kill. I fudging hate spiders, so I naturally kill them on sight, but I still feel bad afterwards...

Not at all, I love taking the poison to an ant hill. Bugs are pests especially some of the freaky ass ones you can see in the woods here in Alabama.

Some times I do, but not really for spiders. We have this unspoken agreement that as long as they stay outside and off me they can live without fear of being killed; However the second they enter the house or crawl on me they are killed with out any mercy!

Hahaha.... This thread is so silly! I love how a lot of responses are "die bugs die!" But then they provide one or two exceptions... My exceptions are butterflies and bumblebees (who would go out of their way to kill a butterfly??) All others go Squish!

Although I know that deep within the primordial recesses of my DNA lurks a cold blooded killer, I kill nothing unnecessarily. So, if I deem it necessary to unleash my inner demon I have no regrets-muwahaha

When it comes to mosquitos I'd say they're aware of the risks involved when feeding on us giants, and so, smashing them shouldn't make us feel guilty. When it comes to every other bug I'd say "you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't," so I normally smash a bug without any second thought, should it become annoying enough for me to feel the need to do so. For I'm damned either way, right?

When I think back on it I still feel bad about stomping on a praying mantis when I was about 10 or 11. I wish I could go back in time and yank myself back by the shirt collar and say don't DO that ya dumbass.

Actually most insects don't have the receptors in their body to feel pain.
So maybe that'll make you feel less guilty about smashing their heads in.

I despise all insects. If they wish to not die, they shouldn't cross my path.
