Hrm. Never really thought about it but I guess im a Hipster. I never watched Death Note because I thought the entire concept was silly. . .

So, I guess while I like animes that are over the top. And I like anime that are silly in genre. I don't like silly concepts or ideals that I think personally would be quite stupid in my opinion.

Although, I do like things that are interesting.

Severing Crime Edge, my hat tips to you for this.

Mysterious Girlfriend X, same thing.

_____________

I also dislike anime that get drawn out for too long with no real plot progression, just filling in to stretch it out. Despite the fact I loved the series, DBZ falls into this catagory as well. [ALTHOUGH, I must say I don't dislike that they stretched it out. It should've ended at Cell Saga].

One Piece, As long as this series is and how good it seems to be for everyone. I still think it has gone on for far to many episodes.

Naruto, same thing. It's getting so ridiculous with the abilities that I wont' be surprised if gurren lagann appeared.

Bleach, plot just bouncing off itself. Should've been ended as well.

Fairy Tail- . . . Never seen it yet, can't comment.

but for the most part, shows that drag on for entirely too long. .

And finally, the number one thing that turns me off about anime.

Repetition.

Now, im not saying making new and fresh anime is easy. But for the most part, most anime now have a similar vibe to one another-- specially in the romance genre that i love.

Toradora to Sakurasou. Blaring similar but I love them both because they are at least different.

Oresha is a good example of a Harem being played right, and Noucome as well.

But, there are some animes where they make their MC so dense, with such a large harem. Such a large amount of women basically throwing their naked bodies at him, or whatever. And he's just like 'Lol no'.

It's. . annoying.

I hate that cycle of anime that just gets turned into anime because of fanservice and no real plot or at least comedic value.

I do not like the old anime at all. I understand I will probably get a lot of hate from that, but I just cannot stand the art style back then. Another turn off is disproportional anatomy. Now that drives me up the wall.

I usually can hold down all the hentai/ecchi/yaoi/yuri, but when the woman's boobs are literally too big to handle: I draw the line. This probably goes along the lines of my disproportion hatred.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt though. This is coming from a fujoshi.

I also cannot stand the big three (Naruto, One Piece, and Bleach). Many of the fans have absolutely ruined it for me. I used to go to school with a few rabid ones. Plus, I do not have the time or patience to watch 100 episodes. My computer is so slow, I can barely get through one episode a day!

Studio Arms is a HUGE turn off for me.

I don't know they are starting to break away from their past with Maoyū Maō Yūsha and Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil

I've checked out Maoyu, and while the story was decent and the visuals rocked....it lacked substance. It felt like I was watching someone play a Tycoon game, instead of watching a Tycoon anime.

Like, Age of Empires II + Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 - The ton of Fun stuff = Maoyu.

The characters were so forgetable, they didn't even get names! Maoyu was only created because Arms was allowed to give Demon King huge huge huge boobs. That Wizard thing looks decent, but in the end, Studio Arm's makes primarily action based ecchi.

It's fighting, nakedness, clothes ripping, fighting, and sex jokes with Studio Arms. And all of it is sub par.

If I want fighting, I have a lot of action anime to pick from.
If I want Ecchi, I can go all the way with something from Hoods Entertainment.

If I want both, Trigger and Gainax have a record of the best fanservice and action combinations, tons of them.

Arms just gives less fucks than required to make a good show for me.

Waaaayyyy too much fanservice, traversing into ecchi/hentai territory. I can handle a fair amount, but some things are just ridiculous. As seen in: that goddamn Estetica show last year.

Harems with Mary Sue/Gary Stu main characters. As seen in: Amnesia, Nakaimo, Mashiroiro Symphony. I like some harem shows, like Haganai. But in Haganai, the main character actually has a personality, and the girls aren't lifeless stereotypes.

Boring, overused plots. If I get a few episodes in and nothing interesting has happened, I drop it. I did this with Hakkenden. That story was so bland that I couldn't hold on even halfway through the season.

I actually can't remember any series I dropped solely for its art. The animation quality is low on my lists of grievances with a show. Typically, if the animation is bad, the story and plot aren't the best, either.
