Well, I can pretty much forgive anything so long as the story is good. If it is not written well, then I get more critical. In any case, here are my top disqualifiers:
1. 100+ episodes -- Usually these shows are too soap-opera-ish for me. I prefer a good story that's wrapped up so I can move on to the next show.
2. Loli
3. Incest
4. Excessive fanservice
5. Moronic, whiny heros

A spineless protagonist, male/female (ie: Amnesia) I actually don't mind having weak protagonists, but there is just so much spinelessness a person can take. I'm not too lenient on the art, not too picky either. But if it looks something like picasso forget about it (ei: Tsumiki no Ie)
what she said i watched like 15 episodes of Hitman Reborn was fucking disgusting
I actually watched the whole series of Hitman Reborn and enjoyed it.

1.Poorly developed characters that feel like there is no back story to them, or characters that annoy me.
2. Sloppy animation style, I cant handle the ones that look more like American cartoons than anime.
3. Boring plot that either progresses too slowly, doesn't make sense, or doesn't seem to exist at all.

The anime I dropped in the fastest time ever is Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica. Due to a supposedly fanservice-y sleepwalking near rape scene played for laughs during the first five minutes of episode 2.

As you can clearly deduce, I hate anime with sleepwalking people in them.

Inconsistencies or plot changes that are unwarranted *cough* Valvrave *cough*.

Unwarranted drama. Sorry to sound like a broken record on this part. I won't elaborate.

Aesthetics that are basically bad... Majestic Prince suffers from this, starting with the character designs, going all the way to any background that isn't in space. Everything about Majestic Prince looks very ascetic and pale. Perhaps that's intentional, but still. Date A Live also has non-standard aesthetics in what is, at the core, a very standard and cliched action harem. Things like unexpectedly realistic lighting coupled with conspicuous 3D make the whole show weird to look at. I do love the character designs in it, though.

Two of the three mech shows this season are not that great, and the only one that is great isn't even about the robot ;_; such a shame

Haven't noticed anything like that in Valvrave. Unless you point it out, probably never will. I'm not asking you to just letting you know how little details such as those often tend to bypass me until someone mentions it and I go "Now that you mentioned it..."

As for the unwanted drama, I totally agree. That's a major turn off point for me in a series (well that and yaoi). I can stand them in comedy shows to a slight degree or it's an action series and needs to get series but when it starts to take over the series, like it did with Sakurasou, it turns me off from them. It's like at one moment it's a comedy and then the next it's a drama. Makes it hard to enjoy it.

Also, don't think there are a lot of mecha shows that are actually about the mecha. They tend to be about the pilot(s) who are driving the mecha.

An anime that tries too hard to be badass and cool like

Fixed.

If there's obvious ecchi all over the advertisement for the show, I'm likely to skip it.

Example:

Immediate thought: This show is Total Shit.

Repetitive storyline (lookin at u Endless Eight)
Beta protagonist (Mirai Nikki is the only exception)
Unattractive art
I try to stay away from magical girl anime, they're just not my cup of tea
If it's hentai than anything with extreme stuff (like /d/ level stuff, vanilla is enough k thank)

I would have agreed with you, until I saw Aiura. Dont know how everyone feels about this show in particular but god damn it's so funny.
Crabs + Steve Jobs = Best OP this year (next to Titan and Crime Edge).

Fanservice pisses me off more than anything. I will automatically put a show in higher regards if it doesnt have any fanservice. It's just a cheap way to get people to keep watching your show without yo putting in much effort. Fanservice for the sake of plot is one thing, but mindless fanservice irks me to no end.

Also, shows that are painfully generic. So most RomCom's. Boring MC who has no idea 80 girls are in love with him, the fact that 80 girls are in love with him, the inclusion of useless fanservice because they ran out of ideas, the beach episode (they all have it, even gargantia), tsundere girl who likes him, childhood friend who likes him (sometimes the same person), overprotective cute younger sister (brocon?). These arent bad on their own, but so many RomComs have ALL OF THE ABOVE. A couple are fine, but ALL of them? Seriously? Way to be different...

That applies to the mech genre too, which can be stale at times also.
