So Canaan is one of my favorite Anime, i watched it as it was coming out in Japan [waiting for fansubs each time of course]

I absolutely loved it, but ive heard mixed reviews on it from people.

If youve seen it, what did you think?

Ye and it was above mediocre for me. I vaguely remember it though since I've watched it a long time ago but the gun action was delicious.

Oh god i know! That was one of THE best loving lesbian relationships in an Anime. Not fanservice but true care for eachother.

The ending was GOOD, but it left me wanting more. Thats my issue, it wasnt a bad ending but damn i wanted MOAAAARRRRRR

Also Stark the gun action is good, but its one of those animes where the story>action easily.

I saw a couple episodes; from personal experience and from what else I've heard it was decent but forgettable. I remember it made me think of Noir (another I didn't finish) and later Jormungand (because of the child soldier thing).

Its not too long, id suggest giving it another chance. 12 episodes i believe!

It starts off a bit slow, once you hit episode 5-6 you just cant put it down.

I promise you will enjoy it, well i guess i cant promise you will but i can say i really enjoyed it after not expecting to [the first episodes like i said are slow]

I'll think about it, but honestly nothing I remember from it perked my interest.

I just finished forcing my way through 50 episode of Code Geass though, so I might give it a shot later.

After I purge my soul.

I just enjoy hating on it. It's like a fetish really.

Even I'll admit the ending was pretty damn good though. I just didn't particularly enjoy getting there.

It's...meh.

I watched it last year, like three weeks after I originally got into anime, and it really didn't live up to the others that I was watching at around the same time.

Oh, but don't worry, two series after that, I was watching Dance in the Vampire Bund, and CANAAN totally ripped that junk to shreds.

I loved it. Was a short but awesome anime. I really loved the relation between the heroine and the antagonist. Canaan and Alphard. And yes some of the gunplay is pretty awesome. The train scene definitely sticks in my mind.

The soundtrack is amazing imo. This track for example is over 8 minutes long and it has some AMAZING portions to it. Really takes me back.

Its not for everyone for sure, but im glad to hear alot of other people liked it!

Im glad to take you back, im sort of stuck in that Anime generation and earlier. [Think GITS:SAC, Darker Than Black, Canaan era]

However CR has actually gotten me to watch some new stuff, and much to my dismay.... I LIKE IT

I own a copy on Blu-Ray.

Really, Dance in the Vampire Bund and Canaan isn't a fair comparison as they are strikingly different.

If you liked it, you may also like Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Black Lagoon, Noir, Madlax, El Cazador de la Bruja, Gunslinger Girl, Spriggan, Garden of Sinners, Ga Rei: Zero, Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, Shiki etc.

Here's samples of the soundtracks of each:

Couldn't find one for Dogs: Bullets & Carnage, but then again I wasn't looking too hard for songs..
