1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I am able to work well on a team and I deal with issues in a professional manner. In my life I have worked primarily in retail and in pharmacies providing customer service and satisfying healthcare needs. I also have experience moderating a fairly large political debate forum. I have had to learn excellent people skills and the ability to rationally and calmly deal with individuals who are being rude or are not clearly understanding an issue (particularly issues regarding forum rule violations). As a pharmacy student I have learned to counsel patients, respect privacy (which would apply to user privacy in the case of moderating online), and explaining things in ways that others can understand. Specifically with working in healthcare I have learned to act as a compassionate individual practicing with empathy while also being strongly aware of my professional responsibilities and liabilities. I personally feel that I understand the rules of the Crunchyroll forums well and would apply the rules to others without bias. I enjoy moderating and working as a team member with other mods. In my experience as a moderator of a fairly large political debate forum I have been exposed to the typical issues that mods face and having to work as a member of a moderation team in harmony with moderator colleagues. Years ago I was also a guild leader on an MMORPG and site administrator/moderator for our guild forums. One of my personal strengths is professionally and rationally dealing with users who violate the rules or who want to act irate and fight about moderation. I have enforced forum rules without bias and have had to issue disciplinary actions to people I consider to be friends. Given the responsibilities outlined expected of a moderator for this forum I have experience in each setting in my moderating of other forums and am confident in my abilities.

2) What would your moderation style be?

I would work as a respectful member of the moderation team and moderate based on consensus and precedence according to the rules while valuing feedback from my peers on how they would deal with situations. I would scan the forum, pay special attention to threads that become problematic, check reports, and deal with users in a very professional way.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I check the forums about 2-3 times per week, I used to be much more active in years passed but recently post when things peak my interest usually engaging in threads about once a week. If made a moderator I would keep a high activity level and make moderating the forums a priority. It would be unfair to slack off, push moderation work upon others, and not pull my weight as a team member.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

I have reported inappropriate posts, my most recent report was about 2 weeks ago. Lately I have not reported many problematic posts aside from the one roughly 2 weeks ago.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

1-2 hours per day scanning the forum, reading reports, and discussing mod-relevant topics is an appropriate amount of time in my opinion.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I like gaming, especially RPGs. I also like discussing current world issues and intelligent topics of debate with people. I love coffee and I love science. Molecular biology and pharmacology are areas of particular interest for me.

7) What timezone do you live in?

I live in the US Central Time Zone

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I enjoy moderating and working as a team with other mods. I have been an anime lover since childhood and have been a member of Crunchyroll for over 5 years. I take my responsibilities very seriously and feel that in any setting I am in I should function as an asset to other individuals and not as a hindrance. I do not think it is fair to push work upon others, ignore issues because I want someone else to deal with it, or become inactive and not pull my own weight. I have worked with other moderators who have done this and I personally feel that out of respect for my colleagues and position as a moderator that these things should not happen.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

As a frequent visitor to this and many other forums on the web. I have grown accustomed to how moderators keep control over such things as inappropriate behavior, arguments, off-topic postings, ect. Since about 2004 I have been roaming through different types of forums as well, from gaming, to other anime(such as narutoforums.com for example), to even sports forums. I was at one time a moderator on a website/forum my friend and I created. It lasted a bit but it is very hard to get popular in the anime world with forums, unless your lucky. However, I believe I possess vast knowledge of the way things work and feel I am perfect for such a job as a moderator here at Crunchyroll.

2) What would your moderation style be?

My moderation style would be roaming all possible threads to keep tabs on things, do all the necessary jobs that are presented to me in a timely manor. Also I would try to keep things calm, cool, and collected, as much as possible.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I frequently post in the forums. I would say I look at the forums at least once or twice a hour. Mostly I am just commenting on random threads I find interesting. However I am frequently checking threads to read what people are saying. I love to hear peoples opinions, even if they don't agree with my own views. I am the type of person who tries to understand every point of view. Therefore, I think I would be a perfect moderator cause I am not biased about anything and I try to understand everything as well as possible.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

To be honest, I have not reported any inappropriate threads. I obviously would, but I haven't been here as much as many people, and I never really got looking into the forums here since recently. I obviously would try to report anything to keep the forums clean for everyone to view.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

Personally, I believe at least one moderator should always be viewing the threads. I obviously know it is impossible for that to happen, people have their own lives and such. But I think a moderator should make it important to view as much as possible, without it interfering with their own personal lives.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

Besides anime, I love playing video games, MMO's, shooters, RPG's mostly. I also love sports, I played baseball and football when I was younger. I frequently watch them on TV. I love to write and draw. I am not that good at drawing, but who cares? I love it and that's all that matters!

7) What timezone do you live in?

I live in EST(USA), Massachusetts to be exact.

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I enjoy working and helping people. I am currently in college to be a therapist. I always love to hear things people have to say and always try to respect anyone and everyone.

Hello Bjaker and everyone!

Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
Perception and keen sight. A Heightened Sense of Justice! ... :p

2) What would your moderation style be?
I want to be one of those privilieged normal members. Unfortunately i forgot name the name of this but it's someone with 'moderator responsibility without the moderator powers'. So if i see something wrong i'll report it to a moderator and i'd get more credibility with the title.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I mostly post comments in news pages and video pages. Forums is not my cup o' tea though i visit threads with an interesting topic.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
Never seen anything inappropriate, Crunchyroll has a very cool community in the two weeks i've spent.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
Two-three hours a week. If it's a paid job (which it probably won't be) every day now and then.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
Gaming!

7) What timezone do you live in?
UTC+1

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

Time spent on Crunchyroll: two weeks.
My ambition: having credibility if i report to real moderators. Even as i am able to use moderator powers with avoid of abuse, i want to be a moderator without moderator powers.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I worked at Barnes and Noble, and dealt with customer service. I dealt with people and helped them on a daily basis. I have a great understanding of people and the way they may feel or think. Getting to the core of people's problems and situations is easy for me. I like to make connections with people and make them feel comfortable. Now I work at a publications house, and I organize photo and file archives on various programs; setting the metadata and making sure components are searchable. I have a knack for organization, which would be advantageous for keeping track of various threads on the site.

2) What would your moderation style be?

I would be always certain to keep the forum and site guidelines in tact and working for the benefit of the site and its members. I would not want to be just "behind the scenes", only surfacing to lock a topic - I'd want to establish a connection with the members. The members are important and keep this site thriving; I'd want my moderating style to reflect that.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I do post often; and my CR points reflect that because I earned them without the benefit of a premium membership. I love the General Discussion and Anime forums, and the sub-forums for specific series.
I am also very prevalent in CR comments sections.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

I'm not sure that I have reported a whole thread, but I have reported inappropriate posts when they were really apparent. I do not do it often, but as a potential CR moderator I will be vigilant in making the forums uphold our community standards.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

Any time possible. A moderator should love the community and want to be here, not treat it like an hourly job. When you have a passion for something, you want to do it as much as possible. So should a moderator be to the site community.
Be here to organize and keep the guidelines in tact, as often as possible. Moderating should be a labor of love.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I enjoy art and graphic design. I really love typography and photo manipulation, as well as corporate, web, and layout design. I enjoy experiencing new programs and trying to implement them into my work. I also have a passion for music and enjoy a little gaming in my spare time.

7) What timezone do you live in?

Eastern Timezone UTC-5

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I have an extensive knowledge of anime, manga, and Japanese popular culture. I am able to offer my input on a variety of these topics.

The qualities of a moderator should include respectability, and the ability to know what to do in a situation. They have to represent CR to the community and keep the forum a nice place for everyone to enjoy. They need to be informed so they can answer questions

Well too be honest i didn't find out about the forum until recently, because i was so focused on watching on the awesome anime in hi def . Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I have been a moderator on may different things before mostly games so keeping the peace for those in game, which can be very difficault at times as everyone likes to think they are in the right But more importantly I can offer unbias friendly advice the kind that everyone can understand and agree to, and so making everyone smile

2) What would your moderation style be?

In everything I have ever done that involves communication between people, I have learnt that its necessary to be calm even when you are being picked on, a good laugh can often diffuse the most difficult situations. However when the line is crossed and enough is enough I can come down on someone like a ton of bricks, with fair warning naturally ;)

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

As such I have only just signed up to Crunchyroll, but in the week or so that iv been on iv loved it and will be using it a lot more

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

Not yet, but I never say never

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

In previous moderating rolls, I have found myself online for the majority of the day, that being said I don't feel that it is actually necessary to be. What I found key is checking online in the morning to see what has been going on over the night (or the day for a lot of you) and then at the end of the day so i can check to make sure I haven't missed anything out. On my style of moderating I like to get involved with discussions to keep all sides balanced, which is why i like to be on as much as possible. As a minimum time scare i would say at least 2 hours a day

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I run my own music business so I guess that take up most of my other hobbies. I am also working on a film as well as a Manga based MMO game. Other then that I do love sports.

7) What timezone do you live in?

GMT - UK

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
