1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
- I'm fairly organized, I think I'm quite nice and patient, a good listener/reader, and I always like to try my best!

2) What would your moderation style be?
- Just make sure everything is all good but if there's a problem to solve then I'll try my best to stop it from growing bigger by confronting the people and telling them that they're breaking a rule.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
- I visit the forums frequently but I don't post often. I'm more of an observer.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
- no, I've never seen one when I was visiting the forums but I would if I saw one.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
- When ever I'm able too, probably about 3-5 hours on weekdays but 6-8 on weekends usually.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
- Reading, playing soccer, drawing/painting, video games, playing with my cat, knitting and baking brownies and cookies and fudge.

7) What time zone do you live in?
Eastern Time Zone (Canada & US)

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
- I'm kinda new to crunchyroll, I used to watch anime on here before but I recently decided to make an account so I understand you may not want a 'newbie' as a mod but thank you for giving me the opportunity to fill out an application anyways.

Best of luck everyone~

I may as well throw my hat in the ring.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
Not sure how many of these are "skills" per se, but you'll get the idea. I'm articulate, reliable, mostly friendly in spite of not being a people person, attentive to detail (but pretty good at knowing when details aren't everything) good at follow-through, and I've worked Customer/Tech Support in the past. I learn quickly in various ways. Also, I have a sense of humor (which apparently sometimes manifests in stealth mode. I used to hate smileys; now I use them sometimes).

2) What would your moderation style be?
Helpful and transparent. I'd aim to guide new users to the appropriate forums and threads and help them learn the ropes (I'd no doubt learn a few more ropes myself in the process). I also want to help keep a good vibe going so that a wide variety of users can really enjoy the space and in many cases I expect that can be accomplished with friendly reminders from time to time. However, in dealing with rebels and those who like to poke sleeping beasts to see what happens I'd roar smile (because to be honest I like our resident rebels and pokers) but be stern if necessary, and mete out the consequences. I'm not big on every discussion needing to be nicey-nice all the time, but I'd speak up and listen and take action if things seemed to be going very much in a disrespectful, hostile, or other content-inappropriate direction. I don't see banning as so much punishment for the one banned, but more as protection for the community. By transparency I mean my style would be to let people know, either in thread or via PM when more appropriate, why whatever action I took was taken.

Also, while I'd continue to roll my eyes at every new –est, most, favorite, top, best, worst thread started, I would be tolerant and only annihilate them if they were duplicates or extremely lewd. Eventually I might even post in them

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I visit a few forums several times a day, and occasionally wander around to others—though I only recently noticed we have a forum for "Cars." Cars? Why do we have a forum on "Cars"? It was pretty quiet there though. I've started a couple of threads and I post a little most days (usually in Anime); I have been getting postier.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
Yes. Probably not every day (some days everyone finds them before I do!), but basically if I see something that seems out of place I'll help redirect the OP and report the thread. So far my focus has been on things like duplicates, and threads that are in the wrong forum or should be part of the recommendations or help threads, rather than inappropriate or inadequate content. I like to keep things tidy. (As a regular user I prefer to leave content-appropriateness judgment calls to the mods and other users to report, since the content doesn't usually bother me and if it did, I'd rather discuss it than report it, but as a mod I would take more responsibility for monitoring and dealing with inappropriate content or disrespectful behavior.)
Psst. I have the closed threads forum bookmarked and I visit it regularly because I'm always curious about what got disappeared while I wasn't looking. Bless alexwithcandy for retiring all those old threads to make room for new repeats.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
For the team as whole, however long it takes to handle reports, and monitor the most active forums and threads for appropriateness. For an individual, largely what they have time for—for some that would be more and for some less—I think a minimum of an hour most days, and a bit more on weekends is reasonable to expect. For me personally an hour or two most weekdays (largely mornings and nights plus occasional midday breaks, because I have a full-time day job) and several hours each weekend day would be reasonable. I pretty much always have my computer on and a Crunchyroll tab active when I'm home, and refresh CR forums fairly frequently (or use beardfist's handy-dandy Chrome extension now that I've bothered adding it) and I spend quite a bit of time at home when I'm not at work. So while my activities as a mod would be more focused, the time spent would be roughly equivalent to the time I spend with CR now.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
You've got me there. I don't really have hobbies. Even anime isn't so much a hobby with me as a recreation (but I do watch an awful lot of it and it's all Crunchy's fault that I now watch so damned much). Sometimes I go for walks (some trails near my house), or the movies, or out to eat, or hang out with friends and not watch anime. Oh yeah, I'll be watching the remaining episodes of Breaking Bad and Dexter season 7 soon (thank you Amazon Instant Video). Happy dance!

7) What timezone do you live in?
Eastern

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
You forgot to ask what's making me happy today. The answer to that is (aside from realizing that Dexter is now finally available): my friend's math-geeky t-shirt that made word-geeky me remember the word rebus (though my brain did make a slight detour toward rhombus before I caught the wheel and steered quickly away). Oh wait, attention to detail. That comment wasn't necessary. If I were a mod, maybe I'd scold myself (nicely) and edit it out. [ETA: Instead I edited for grammar]

That got unexpectedly long.

Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I have a good sense on what moderating on crunchyroll is like. Being a series moderator for crunchyroll in several groups and knowing the mechanics on how to deal with reported threads , rules ,etc is not new to me. I've shadowed many moderators in the past that I feel like I know some of their styles on how to effectively enforce rules but with maturity and leniency. I am in no rush to answer people's questions and will take the time to reply with 100% effort. As well I do not let my emotions run on my work , if a task is given to me I will seize to complete it and then move on to whatever else needs to be done.

2) What would your moderation style be?
My style would be quiet. Simple. Leaving a post on what happened ( violation , answered question ,etc) and then locking it. In some cases if the thread is left with unanswered questions and another thread is made in the case of it. I will lock the thread and will leave a reply asking them to personally PM me to personally tell them why it was locked. If the user asks for it to be opened again for reasonable explanation. It will be on probation and I will personally watch the thread. If it gets out of hand again ,I will lock it.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I usually give myself an hour each day before I go to bed to check the forum categories and I usually get passed all the sections in that time given.
I more so roam around each section now then I used to a few years back and will answer a thread if I find that I need to share whats tinkering in my head that I want people to know of. If I am made as a moderator , I will see to it I will be active frequently as I was a few years back. Checking the forums on a regular basis and ensuring other users don't break the rules.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

Yes, I have reported countless of inappropriate threads to mods in the past. It was frequent compared to now , as I was an avid user to the forums reporting threads for mods to lock. For the past year I was on hiatus so I barely reported but I do know the procedures and still remember what rules apply.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

2 - 3(max) hours. Since sometimes in the first hour you lock a thread, another thread may pop-up asking why it was locked. You may want to stay for a little while and explain to the user why it was locked and what you can do next time if you want to recreate it.
Also having this much time gives you enough time to glimpse over each forum section if users are following the rules and to read threads that catch your attention.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I have my Korean and Japanese drama's to watch. I got into playing LoL. I have an interest in dance and I'm hoping to get into a college/uni with a minor in contemporary ballet or hip hop .

7) What timezone do you live in?
(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I've always wanted to join the forum moderating team a few years back. Everyone seemed so chill and cool that it desperately made me anxious to join and get in , frankly the positions were all filled and I couldn't join-- but that didn't stop me from not trying again some year. I was so eager to learn as a moderator I applied for the series moderators at crunchyroll just to learn hands on what it feels like to moderate bigger groups then just a thread. Though I did face problems with users, I learned and carried on these experiences to who I am today.
I can envision crunchyroll as something even bigger then it is now and I truly want to take part on that ride and help see it be even bigger then it already is. I enjoy helping others and interacting with a team , I am a firm believer that work should be equally shared if were a team and everybody should have a basic understanding on what their task is.

I'm Canadian and I like maple syrup.

I am very interested and I think I will gain much from it as well. Here is my application and my answers to the questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I am very confident when I am I say I have experience in moderation. I am very serious when it comes to following the rules and understands the purpose of each rule. I don’t like to take sides, so I think I will be unbiased in argument, the only side I think I will be taking is the reasonable and logical side.

2) What would your moderation style be?
I think my moderation style would something close to calm and cool with a focus on reasons and moral. I believe that even in argument one should remain logical and not let emotion run them wild. Not only do I demand myself to be calm and collective, but the people arguing as well. I am very straight forward because I believe ambiguous communication is one of the factors contributing growing conflict between the two parties.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I believe I visit the forum and the website every day, but I don’t usually post because the community that I have seen is smooth and without conflict. I enjoy reading people’s comments and their opinions. I have yet to find an urge to join in a conversation, but I’m sure that will come soon.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
I have yet reported inappropriate threads because I seldom encounter them. I give the moderation team a round of applause for that. Like I said before that I usually simply read the comments and the exchange of ideas, but I do believe that I have seen threads that were slightly off, but tolerable due to certain degree of relevance.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
I believe that the time really required is around an hour or so increasing depending on the day, but to consider efficiency, one to two hours should be the ideal. I personally have positive images in CR, so I trust the community to be free or have little negativity within the forums.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
I am a philosophy student, so I enjoy reading different types of philosophical journals. I am also a very big fiction reader, so I do spent time reading in solitude. I play games, usually with my friends from high school.

7) What timezone do you live in?
Pacific Time Zone (PDT)

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
I have plenty of time during day and night when I don’t have classes. I would enjoy visiting CR in a different perspective than a mere member.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
Not too rash with the decisions and always try to assess the situation if something happens that needs moderator attention. I'm on CR all the time be it watching anime, reading news articles or browsing the forums.
I've been a moderator on a couple of different sites before so I know the drill and how moderating works, and I'm a moderator atm at a gaming forum, Tekkennation.com
http://www.tekkennation.com/forums/memberlist.php?mode=group&g=4

2) What would your moderation style be?
I'm just the over-watcher if that makes any sense, while I dont post that much I still read and skim most of the forums and I'll ban bots/warn users/delete inappropriate posts etc as needed. I'll post occasionally and I'm pretty friendly overall

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I visit there around twice a day, once when in the morning and once at night. I dont post unless I feel my post is really adding something so overall I almost never post lol.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
No, I've seen some but I never really reported any, I'll just keep scrolling and move along.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
A couple of hours a day (2-3 I'd say) between morning and evening is good. Thats obviously just an estimate and it'll change depending on the activity.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
Videogames, Drawing, Collecting (Watches, arcade sticks, games),Traveling, Meeting new People

7) What timezone do you live in?
Northwest of the USA. PST

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
I browse through the forum pretty much everyday and I have prior experience in modding and I go a lot of forums so I'm not new to this and I think I can do a good job at it.

I think thats it

1) I am not afraid to delete anything inappropriate. I'm also pretty good with people^^ I also have moderatong positions on Google Plus and I consider myself to be good at working with other people
2) I would help break up arguments but mostly I would delete posts that do not follow the rules. I would like to stay cool about everything, until someone or something goes too far. Then I would move in... I do not post much, so I would be the person who works behind the scenes.
3)Every time I go onto the computer I save time to look over the new posts Probably once every day or so...
4)No, but I never see any. You other mods beat me to it XD
5) I believe being a mod is a rather large commitment, and at the minnimum you should go on everyday, but going on every hour or so would make the mist sense. A perfect one would be on all day haha. If you gotta be on all day, then count me out :/
6) I am an artist, and I love making manga. I practice Kendo (The martial art) and I play the piano. I am also working hard to learn Japanese. I love creative writing and meeting new people.
7) I live in Oregon, so that would be Pacific Standard Time.

8) I did not have much to say haha. I feel like I have made my point though. Thank you for considering me!

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
-I write as a pastime and am at heart a critic though I strive to be fair in my reviews. I am a researching, I like gathering facts and enjoy learning more about the things that interest me in any way.

2) What would your moderation style be?
-I try to always be fair. I think a person deserves at least one warning before they are shut down, and that's what I would do. I would do my best to have an open mind and be unbiased. I would do my best to diffuse bad situations, and be something of a mediator and not a judge that takes sides.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
-I go through the top forum topics on a daily basis. Most often I will post an average of 2 or 3 posts a day.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
-I have never reported inappropriate threads before, this however is only because I have had the good fortune of never coming across any.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
-At least a few hours a day. Between work and other commitments I usually still have plenty of time to myself in a day, there is no reason that I could not spend at least and hour moderating if the position was given to me and I plan to use my time effectively.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
-I am very into video games, reading, and even some writing.

7) What timezone do you live in?

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I hold a good reputation in games such as Cs / Minecraft as an Admin, Mod or any positions. Through my experience, I feel that my request might be considered. Emphasis on 'Might'.

2) What would your moderation style be?

Well I don't have a 'style', I just do what I think is right. For instance, if I see anyone verbal abusing or any ways of abuse, I would personally warn them. In my way, after the third warning, I would either ban them or suspend them, if possible.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

In Crunchyroll? Seldom. In fact, this is my first comment. I was introduced to Crunchyroll by Google Play, it was when I was looking for anime to watch :)

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

In Crunchyroll, none. In other areas, countless.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

Every free time I have. Although I wont let my cyber life affect my real life, I would always try my best to juggle my jobs between different areas of moderation.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I like providing entertainment to my players, or in this case, the people that watches anime. Though I might seem cheerful and all I won't fail my duties.

7) What timezone do you live in?

I live in Asia, Singapore. If I'm not wrong, GMT +8.00

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
As much as I like the positions, I do NOT like people calling me 'mod' or whatsoever, I prefer them calling me by my name... If possible, I won't even let them know I'm a moderator. Please do consider my application. Thank you.
