1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I moderate(d) several forums (MMORPGs, Anime Forums, PC Games). Worked at a helpdesk for a company and currently moderate an IRC Networks[20,000+ users].
I'm quite an easy-going person and get along with most people very well. According to people, I'm "quite" the "funny" guy.
I can understand and write English well, and besides this language, I know Dutch, German and Japanese.
I'm also a guy who's watching most of all the anime of a season. Why? So I can talk about it with other people and if there are any discussions, I can talk with them without any problems like someone who hasn't seen it. Almost hit the 900 anime total and watch 50/60 a season (This is inclusive all movies, OVA's and Hentai )

2) What would your moderation style be?
Reading posts and if something is against the rules, see what rule or rules were broken and decide upon that what happens to the post. If it would be something which has a low priority, I'd edit the post to something that would fix it and tell the user about it. If he/she broke more rules and has a higher priority, I'd delete it and notify the user why it has been deleted if needed. This way, there is communication on both sides. It's not that much of a hassle to inform the user about what he or she did wrong (PM).

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I frequently surf the forum in almost all categories. I'm quite interested in a lot of things. I have the mind-set; Everything can be interesting if you look at it. I made until now 50 posts, but will rise when I'd be chosen to moderate. That's because you also have a duty to moderate and let you see your face sometimes and interact with people more to learn about them and/or the category itself.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
I've reported some threads which were in the wrong category or had spam/needless swearing. I think this way; A nice forum begins with yourself. As a moderator, you can't be everywhere at the same time and it would sometimes help that users report threads that are against the rules and keep the forum clean and entertaining as it is.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
There is no appropriate amount of time (considering the person is serious about to apply at being a moderator). You have to do it out of yourself. Another way you can look at it is; Who are the moderators, which timezone they live in? If there are less moderators in a certain timezone and you're free, the best way to help the community would be moderating the forum while the others are at work, asleep or do something else. And if you don't know the timezones, just moderate when you/I can.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
That would be livestreaming (Gaming), collecting figures, playing darts, reading Manga, Visual Novels and playing piano. Although I want to start learning to play the violin...

7) What timezone do you live in?
GMT+1 (The Netherlands)

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
May the people win that were/are seriously thinking about becoming a moderator to moderate this forum and not give up and/or disappear after X days/weeks/months. That's not nice

Interesting enough, seems like something to try.

Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I'm responsible as a moderator should be and I would never use a biased opinion to judge whether or not a person is wrong about something; or right, in some cases. I'm on crunchyroll.com very often and watch it's shows frequently. I'd been a moderator once before for a small role-playing group on an online video game and I understand the responsibilities I'd have as a moderator and the responsibility, in general, that I'd need.

2) What would your moderation style be?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, I assume you're asking how I'd moderate.
Like any other person, I'd be kind and fair, I wouldn't let my personal opinions make decisions.
A biased moderator is a bad moderator.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I've only looked at the official forum categories a few times and I don't think I've ever posted anything besides the occasional comment on anime.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

No, I haven't. I've never really looked at the threads, so I wouldn't know. As a moderator, I'd definitely get more involved with and search around the Crunchyroll website/community. Even if I don't get chosen, I'd probably still start looking at the threads more often as I've been planning to do so.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

I get home from school at approximately 3pm EST. I go to sleep around 10 or 11pm EST. So, I'd probably be on for 7 hours during the day and, of course, more during weekends and the approaching summer.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I'm interested in Art subjects: music, painting, sketching, even mere doodles. I love to read, although, I don't read much manga since I don't visit the library much. When I read manga, it's a one-time-only thing so, I never thought it was worth going to the store to buy a $15 short story that will only be read once.

7) What timezone do you live in?

As mentioned in #5, I go buy Eastern Standard Time (EST).

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I'm 13, I figured I should tell you this incase I had to be a certain age to apply. It hadn't said so on the original post but, I figured you would assume applicants knew that you only wanted a certain age minimum. I hope this doesn't affect anything, and if it does, I'd like to know what the age was. Typically because I'd like to re-apply in the future once I'm old enough, if that's the case.

Thank You!

1. What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I run my own community on Steam (Gaming platform, group name is Absolute-Zero Gaming.) and am an admin on multiple servers on the game Team Fortress 2, so I have first-hand experience with rule breakers, racist comments, etc. I also have been a donor on multiple forum communities. I also code with HTML and other web platforms and I often help people with problems and difficulties. I have also watched a variety of anime series, so I have a basic idea of most popular series and would know what is relevant or a spoiler.

2. What would your moderation style be?
Depending on the severity of issue, I would act differently. If it were simply a vulgar or offensive comment, or it were a link containing a virus, I would remove it and remind the user of the rules kindly while trying to negotiate and compromise with the user. If it were a spoiler that was not properly tagged, I would edit it and tag it while again reminding them of the rules and compromising. If it were a thread that's in the wrong section, I would move it to the proper section. I would try to compromise any arguments within reason.

If it were a thread with any of the above, I would follow the same procedure as a post.

3. How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
I often visit the forums daily, as I often look at relevant threads to series I'm currently watching or if a thread catches my attention, I view it. I often lurk within a thread, and post when it is relevant or if incorrect information is posted.

4. Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
I have stumbled upon an inappropriate thread before that had a rather revealing image posted, but before I had the chance to properly report it, it was already removed. If anything catches my eye as rule-breaking, I won't hesitate to take action.

5. What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
A fair time to allocate to the forums would be at least 4 hours a day, usually split-up throughout the day. On weekends, I would try to dedicate as much time as possible and necessary as activity is fairly high on the weekends.

6. Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
I act during spare time, and have been in a heap of performances. I perform local theatre and am occasionally in a production. I also moderate my community and servers I administrate on as stated above, as well as web design and programming.

7. What timezone do you live in?
I live in Eastern Standard Time (GMT -05:00), and rarely, if ever leave it.

8. If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
Here is a link to my Steam account if you'd like to verify my adminship or ownership of the community. My personal details are located there as well. I'd like to thank you for all the current staff for keeping the community the way it is and as clean as possible. My goal here is simply to assist in this.

I'm trustable, I put myself in the place of the people, I'm usually the mediator in my family and at university.

Maybe (o///o)
1) I'm an actor and I can be very persuasive. I'm an active blogger too (tumblr)
2) A calm, outgoing, and understanding moderator. If necessary, I will be firm and stand ground if someone is exceedingly rude/profane.
3) Well, I enjoy reading them. Like I said, I blog on tumblr a lot.
4) Not very often, there isn't a lot of foul behavior on this website, thankfully.
5) maybe an hour or two. I go on crunchy roll a lot, so i might as well do something to better our community.
6) I draw a lot (training to be a mangaka), I watch supernatural, roleplay on tumblr, and eat food..
7) central time
8) by the way, this is a new account. I don't remember the password to my old email or crunchyroll account, so I had to make a new one....
Oh and I study html coding. I want to become a good web designer as well

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I believe that i would be a good canditate to take on the role of 'Moderator' at crunchyroll due to the various skills that i have. I use / have used crunchyroll every day (Apart from a few instances that i am not able to) since i have signed up. I visit the forums regularly to check what other people have written / posted (even if i am not going to place a reply myself). This allows me to get updates on what people are currently thinking about, and I believe i have grown accustomed to what is considered acceptable and not acceptable.

I have got a habit of helping those who are in need (whether online or not online), whether on crunchyroll, or not crunchyroll. Due to studying purposes, my posting in the forums has been limited, however, now that they are over, I can finally join in various discussions.

I like solving the situation in a manner that would allow everyone to be happy, and I would go to any lengths to ensure that Crunchyroll is a welcoming place for all members. I would absolutely love to moderate the forums of crunchyroll, and i feel that I will be able to make a lot of people happy.

I have encountered bullying / offences multiple times in my life, whether directed to me or not. At this point, I have had enough of what this world is turning into to, so as a moderator of crunchyroll, I will combat this awful behaviour.

I very much enjoy using crunchyroll for watching anime / watching over the forums, so I am confident in the fact that being a moderator would be something that I would take an interest to.

2) What would your moderation style be?

My moderation style would be to visit the forums throughout the day like i normally do, and consider what i think to be something that isn't appropriate, and deal with it by deleting the post, and sending the user a message stating what they had written, why it wasn't allowed, and why they should prevent it in the future.

I will keep a record of members who seem to be having difficulties committing to rules, and monitor them whenever i am able to. I feel this method of moderation would allow users to realise that what they're doing 'Is' wrong, and there is always someone who will deal with the situation.

If they have a personal reason for not committing to the rules, I will message them, stating that I would be more than happy to listen to what they have to say, and hence give a suitable response, reassuring them.

I feel that my methods are not extremely strict, but a method that would encourage users to enjoy using Crunchyroll as much as possible. People can't possibly be happy by purposely not committing to the rules.

Depending upon different circumstances, I will change the way I act, for an example: Links to viruses. I would immediately research the link, and if it was something that would cause any harm to people, I would immediately remove it and notify the person who posted it, giving them a warning.

If a topic has been duplicated, or is the same as a previous thread, I will delete it, notifying the user. If a topic is in the wrong category, i will move it to the correct category. If a certain topic is getting too much spam for what it is, or no additional comments are required, I will lock the topic.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I visit the forum categories as much as possible, because I find it intriguing to what people are currently thinking about. I haven't been posting much recently due to studying purposes, however, now that is over, I am willing to commit any times throughout the day in the forum. Whether i post or not depends on the topic. however, I am still reading through all threads regardless.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
I may have reported a few inappropriate threads before, because I had always honestly thought that I wasn't needed, however that was my mistake. I realise that even normal members can help out by simple methods such as that, so as moderator, i am willing to encourage other members to feel they are helping out too.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

I don't feel there is an appropriate time to spend moderating honestly. I feel moderating is something that should be done along with your joys of using crunchyroll. I have various different electronic devices, and on some websites that i am monitoring, I leave tabs open on my Android tablet. I could also keep crunchyroll open in this method so I have access to crunchyroll all day, regardless of where I am.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

Japan plays a major role in my life, and I am in the process of learning japanese, which has turned into a major hobby, as i plan to work in japan in the future. The japanese culture, their everyday life and the country itself fascinates me to the extent that i am willing to devote my life towards going there. I regularly use 'Rosetta Stones' language exchange program, where i communicate with various different japanese people, to discover their encounters, and further perfect my knowledge of the language.

Other activities I enjoy are:

Watching J-Drama, Listening to uplifting music, buying and using electronic devices, and using the internet (Alot). There isn't a single day that goes by the I am not using the internet. Gaming is another hobby of mine, along with reading manga (japanese / not in japanese), light novels (Japanese / not in japanese). I go to the gym regularly to get some exercise and build muscle, also helping other members of the gym to achieve their goals.

7) What timezone do you live in?

Standard Time Zone: GMT/UTC + 00:00 hour
Daylight Saving Time: DST in use +1 hour
Current Time Zone offset: GMT/UTC + 1:00

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I have no further comments to make other than the fact that i have indeed become a moderator before on a different website. I was eventually promoted to be an administrator of a popular multiplayer gaming website (Grand Theft Auto), to which point i asked to be demoted back to a regular member, as I wouldn't be using the website as much, to give other people a chance to take my place. The website wasn't an official website, but that doesn't change the fact that lots of people were using it, and I helped to maintain order in not only the forums, but as an in game administrator also.

Thank you for reading this application and I hope you consider me as a canditate of being a moderator of Crunchyroll.
