1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position? Knowledge of 90% of the anime on this website, plus lots of series that aren't on this website. Rather good communication skills, and im good at troubleshooting. I'm also good with computers and website related stuff as well. (Side Note: My Powerlevel is >9000)

2) What would your moderation style be? I have no idea what you mean by "style", but I would make sure the rules of CR are followed, and that people must understand the rules must be followed. But with that being said, I would also try and be really active on the forums and get along with the CR community.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often? Not very often, and not very often, I watch around an anime series of more per day, but I was planning on spending more time on the forums regardless.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often? No, as I haven't seen one yet. How often would be never, as I haven't reported any before.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I have superior leadership skills compared to most people. I have a sort of mysterious vibe that apparently calms people down yet makes them yield to my authority. I'm not sure how this would work out on a forum, but I'm assuming I'd do a fine job.
Oh right, I also admin a few medium sized facebook pages, some on anime, but mostly on video games.
2) What would your moderation style be?
I'm very passive, I assume that I'd mostly carry out my job in silence. If possible, not alarming to viewers of a thread by saying things like: "OH JEEZ THIS THREAD IS BAD SO I'M GONNA LOCK IT." or whatever it is that 'bad' admins would do. I like to keep the peace without being labeled as harsh, or labeled at all.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
This is literally my first post on these forums, but now that I'm aware that they exist I'll be on quite often.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
As I said above, this is my first time on these forums.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
I have very little responsibility at the moment, so I'd say all day every day, whenever there's trouble.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
Video games. Lots and lots of them. Mainly RPGs, but I'll play just about anything.

7) What timezone do you live in?
Eastern United States

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
I'm not really one to beg for a position like this, and I don't plan to suck up in order to get it.
What I'm instead going to use this spot for is to say this:
I'm not promising that I can be the best moderator ever if I'm chosen. I'm not even sure if I'll be considered good. But I will enjoy being around others with interests similar to mine. And to be honest, I'm probably only doing this for the free premium membership.
Rest assured, if chosen, I'll be doing the best I can just to keep that.. but I'm sure I'll grow attached along the way.

I think that covers what I want to say.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I was a moderator at Current.com and its community for two years from late 2005 as a volunteer to late 2007 when I joined as staff working a weekend shift as a content screener from 2007-2009 when I returned to a volunteer role moderating some of the then launched groups. One dealing specifically with Anime. essentially the same role but with more curatorial and moderating powers as a fully fledged staff person. At Current I moderated everything from Radioheads Scottish Mist to a virtual President Town Hall Debate featuring every Democratic candidate and a few Repbulicans in a webcam forum on issues ranging from torture to medical marijuana. I also helped choose news stories for an hourly news broadcast narrated by our friendly newsrobot vicki. The stories were all user submitted and voted on by users. With staff as active participants as well. I handled every email that came into current from its online community and was the first line of communication with all of our users. It also had a similar format in that we streamed all of our content online with discussion walls for comments. I also actively monitored all of those feeds for posts violating our policies.

Since then I have moderated several facebook and twitter pages.

2) What would your moderation style be?

Hands on. Help steer conversations organically away from fighting or flame wars. Then Post a warning message publicly but not forcefully if things are starting to get out of hand but better to pm those responsible individually and attempt to sort it out that way. I don't want to remove content from a discussion unless it is an outright violation but also not scared to ban people who attempt to make this a threatening place with racial slurs, threats of physical violence or by posting outright illegal content. I have gotten hate mail for doing so in previous roles. Called everything from a commie censor to a kapo and internet thug. I don't mind. I can take the lumps as long as we can keep Crunchyroll from becoming a youtube comments section....shudders. Quality discussion makes a community that much closer to one another and a moderator helps encourage that.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

Now I visit at least a few times a week. Quite happy to increase that!

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

Not as of yet.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

I can offer one to four hour shifts throughout the week.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I am a writer. I currently blog at www.racebending.com which came in large part from my passion about fan communities, in this case associated with Avatar The Last Airbender. As well as writing at BlogCritics.org, Sequelbuzz.com, and serving as one of the hosts for a Podcast, Kind of Epic Show.

I enjoy acting. I helped relaunch Shakespeare in the park in my hometown. I am pushing to do some Trek in the Park performances.

I run my local Nerd Dating meetup, Nerds At Heart in Indy.

I am a Whovian. I helped launch official screenings of Dr. Who in Indianapolis along with a very cool story WhoNA which is an online retailer of British science fiction merchandise based in my area. We show them in the same place we show Anime, at the largest Arcade in my state, Tilt. Love arcade games as well even if I am terrible at them.

7) What timezone do you live in?

Eastern Central Timezone.

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I run the largest Anime community in my home town of Indianapolis. The Indy Anime Underground: www.meetup.com/indyanimeunderground.

Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?
I am currently the editor of more than a dozen shows at TV.com. One of the requirements for editor's at TV.com is to moderator the forums of the shows they are editors for. I have been a moderator/ editor at TV.com since before the transition, roughly 3 to 4 years before it became TV.com. Back when it was TV Tome, a show editor had full moderation responsibilities, and I sat it and listened to debates on one show forum for more than 4 hours. When some items started to get off topic or break the rules, I discussed with the individuals in a private chat what they needed to do so they wouldn't be suspended. I remained neutral at all times and tried to be fair and impartial, despite the opinions of others that tried to get involved. When the said discussion would get too heated, and when people wouldn't obey the outlines, I would lock the said thread for a specific amount of time to allow people to cool off. I reopened the thread after the specific amount of time passed.

2) What would your moderation style be?
Honestly I am very tolerant and likeable most of the time. I try to never take a side, but if something is very inappropriate I'm the first one to report it, delete it, or edit it. I typically send a personal message to the individual explaining why it was deleted or altered so they know what they can do to avoid being suspended. I typically try to operate with a 3 strikes and your out format, but if it is not a continual, repeated offense, then I reset the offense count.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
Honestly I have never visited all the forum categories. However I comment in specific show forums almost every time a new episode airs, and I am willing to work in any forum that I'm asked to, even if it's a show I've never seen or heard of.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
I probably report inappropriate comments about once or twice a month, but I have never reported an inappropriate thread at Crunchyroll. Before I became a show editor at TV Tome/ TV.com, I reported inappropriate threads probably once a month.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?
It depends on the situation, the number of combatants, and the number of moderators available. I would say on average 2 to 4 hours is an appropriate amount, but I have done as much as 12 hours on a Saturday before.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
I enjoy reading fantasy and Star Wars. I do occasional play video games, like Zelda, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts. I also enjoy watching sports, mostly football, but am always willing to comment on basketball, baseball, or hockey as well. I will say there are a few shows (Psych [at least new episodes], Falling Skies) that I won't miss and won't be online during no matter what.

7) What timezone do you live in?
Central Daylight (CDT) US at the moment. I find it funny that everyone keeps saying they live in the Standard Time Zone in the US when only Arizona (Mountain Standard Time) and Hawaii (Hawaiian Standard Time) are currently under Standard Time. Everyone else is under Daylight Savings Time.

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:
Depending on the time you need moderators, I am usually available between 2 PM- 4:30 PM and 6 PM- 11 PM on weekdays. When football season comes that gets altered on Thursday and Friday nights, but while I may not be available from 6- 10, I'm typically available later those nights (roughly 1 AM). Saturdays are typically 11 AM- 11 PM (unless I have to go get something to eat), and Sundays would be between 3- 8 PM, all Central time. Daily work schedule is slightly flexible, so I could be on sometimes in the morning as well.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I'm a very patient person. If there is a person causing trouble, I will try to talk with the person and try to get this person understand that he/she is doing. Even though I'm kind of young, I consider myself older and mature. I also have good leadership. I think I have a good temper. If someone is trying to get a fight with me, I will try to keep calm no matter what. If people and myself think that I was rude or somewhat offensive to someone(even though that person would be a hater), I will always apologize personally. If a situation would need some kind of personal talk, I will do it. I will never take sides with anyone. I have always been a neutral person.

2) What would your moderation style be?

I try to be nice to everyone even if someone is hating on me. I never take sides so I will always in fights be neutral. I will try to keep a good imagine of me so people would think me as a good admin and not a bad one. I like to be a good example of an admin to everyone. I will inform people about CR rules and make them understand those rules. If there is inappropriate posts or pictures, I won't hesitate to report them.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

I visit forum pages everyday. I scan through them and sometimes take part of the dicussion. I try to post something everyday to some forums.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

To be honest I have never reported any threads since I haven't seen one. I know there has been many but I haven't seen anything(maybe someone was quicker than me.)

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

I am not so sure. Personally I use computer very much since I have much free time so I would have time to moderate about 2-3 hours per day. Sometimes maybe more.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

I play video games on 3DS. I also read very much. I also do horseback riding every week. I'm also thinking of starting some Eastern hobby like kendo. I also watch TV but not that much. I also do some exercises every week.

7) What timezone do you live in?

I live in Finland so my timezone is EET (Eastern European Time)

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I know that if I get to be a moderator, my age would cause some troubles in some people but I honestly don't care about that. As I previously told, I think I'm mature and older than I really am and I will ignore any comments about my age. Also since I live in Finland, I am here in CR different times than for example people from US. So if a person from there isn't here, I usually am. Also since I live in Finland my English sometimes can have some problems but I personally think that my English is good. I try to always do my best with it. Also thank you for reading my application and giving this chance to me!

1) I am a friendly person who enjoys talking to people, and get along with almost anyone.

2) I would be fair, give people a chance, and only be strict on those who have proven they can't be trusted to follow the rules.

3) and 4) I am fairly new to crunchyroll, so I haven't had the chance yet to spend that much time in the forums and report anyone.

5) at least a few hours on most days.

6)I love video games, reading, and paintball (an odd mix I know, but I really do enjoy all of them)

7) eastern time zone.

8) I really do love talking and debating with people ( and by debating I don't mean yelling at someone and degrading them, just because they disagree or have a different view point on something) and also I LOVE ANIME, but no one I know really appreciates it, so I'm looking forward to spending some time on the forums with people who share my love for it.

Questions:

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I am willing to be dedicated, put time and effort into this. Although, I have no real experience in anything like this, I think it'll be a first to experience it. To be apart of something bigger a community. Though I am young, and I guess i can relate to other people in the community. Also, I try to be as friendly as possible to others to be a great role model.

2) What would your moderation style be?
Uhmm style. To be honest I don't want to delete without reason. If I feel that there is a racist or rude comment that should be deleted, I would do that. However, perhaps there are always misunderstandings in the way they try to convey their feelings, and ask them to remove it themselves, and if that doesn't work then I will delete the posts myself. Though I will continue to inform them of the rules that should be met.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?
Nope, I don't post often . However I do read the forums quite often for the fun of it.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?
Not that I know of. I don't believe I've come across a thread that really needed to be reported.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?
I love to draw, and I love to game. Two of my best things ever.
My drawings are digital art, and I have a deviantart account ;)
I love playing League of Legends. Oh man, great game.

1) I would be suitable as a moderator as I have prior experience in this role as I've worked as a moderator on 3 different forums to date, I'm also good at resolving conflict and get along well with others, I'm currently in my final year of schooling and I am a member of the student council.
2) Observation until further action is needed in terms of ugly disputes or inappropriate comments/spoilers but also I would interact with the community and help out as best I can.
3) I do have a browse though the forum once or twice a day but I am not a huge contributor in terms of posts.
4) I have yet to come across any issues on the forums, so I haven't reported anything.
5) I can handle around 5 hours a day, 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon/evening (outside of exam periods), during exam periods probably only 2 hours.
6) I'm a keen soccer player, currently training as a student pilot, browsing forums, gaming, manga, bike riding and surfing are probably my main hobbies.
7)Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) GMT+10
8)I've only been into anime for around 12 months now and I'd really like an opportunity to become more heavily involved in the community also I love the service Crucnhyroll provides and would be more than happy to help out in whatever capacity I can.
Thank you for you time.

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

I'm a frequenter of the forum at Collative Learning .com, I often post comments on YouTube videos (and manage to almost never cause any trouble there), and I have a general attitude of fairness that seems to spare me from most of the trouble that others find when dealing with people over the Internet.

2) What would your moderation style be?

Fresh and jive, cool mama! Can yah' diggit?
In case you don't speak jive:
I'd actively participate in community discussions, making it easier to find disputes and settle them. Ideally, people wouldn't realise I'm a moderator until I warn them of their behaviour! (Which I would subsequently correct in a tasteful and adult manner.)

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

Almost never. Although, I've commented on a few videos. Of course, that would change once I become a moderator. Form follows function... (If it seems like that saying doesn't apply here, you're probably right.)

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

No, never. It's difficult to offend me, and I'm a firm believer in freedom of expression, so I figure someone else will deal with offensive behaviour if it upsets them.
On that note, I do occasionally contribute to articles on WikiHow, declining 'Tips' that are inappropriate, out of place, or redundant (in fact, I'm in the top-ten contributors of the Tips section for this week as Bananaman64). So in that case, given the responsibility, I can definitely be objective and efficient when dealing with mis-placed discussions.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

Around 10-15 hours a week. I try to limit my Internet association to a small amount so as to not become completely cut-off from my local world. Besides, if my local moderator breth/sistren are doing their jobs, things should run smoothly! And just wait for my reputation to grow around the forums..... People will think twice about posting an inappropriate comment without first consulting me!

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

Piano, origami, music, Japanese, meditation, video games, walking, spending time with friends (ahem, 'associates'), that kind of thing.

7) What timezone do you live in?

UTC-8.
I.e., California!

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

I love Crunchyroll's service. Subbed anime is, I think, one of the many joys in life, and I appreciate its proliferation due to this website, that also acts as a hub to fellow anime-lovers. Offering free videos of top-quality anime is an amazing accomplishment, and one that I will infinitely support.

Thank you for considering my application!

1) What skills do you possess that would make you a good candidate for this position?

6 years prior experience moderating this website. Initially a chat moderator for the old chat rooms, I progressed to become a forum and site moderator in addition to this, before the chat was eventually removed.

Handled numerous duties such as user quarrels, thread moving/closing, dealing with inappropriate groups and users, removing spoiler comments, general chat and forum moderating, and handling mod reports.

I also work in a bar. I'm good with people, even rude ones.

2) What would your moderation style be?

Friendly and fair. Honest mistakes get the benefit of the doubt, but deliberate rule breaking will only get so many chances.

I don't like to put myself on a pedestal, delusions of grandeur are a personal pet peeve.

3) How often do you frequent the official forum categories, and do you post often?

Not lately, but it's mainly due to university and work taking up most of my free time, as well as travelling. I have more free time these days though.

4) Have you reported inappropriate threads before? If so, how often?

I never needed to because I was always able to deal with them myself

I did this as often as I could when I was active, though. I couldn't tell you how many.

5) What do you feel is an appropriate amount of time to spend moderating?

The same amount of time one would spend on here recreationally. I'll be moderating between watching videos and interacting with the community, which is often.

6) Aside from Anime, what other hobbies do you have?

Buy me dinner first. >_o

...but seriously:

Gaming, bar crawling, modelling, character animating, games design, films, tv.

7) What timezone do you live in?

GMT London time.

8) If you have any other comments that you feel are necessary and weren't covered in the other questions, you may write them here:

If you don't feel like you want me back, at least give digs due consideration. He's a long-time member of this community and a very down to earth person, in addition to having experience in customer service. He'd be an ideal addition to the mod team and deserves a spot, in my humble opinion.

I also make a really good cup of tea. I want you to think about that.
