Don't worry so much about reading my personal thoughts! Read from the second paragraph!

Now it's been a while since I've started a thread, or I've even posted in the "Major" forums. I've been spending all of my time on my small little forum groups, since it seems much less scary than talking to a bunch of people that I don't even know. Still, allow me to get along with this thread.

What can you relate to?

Everyone on here seems pretty close knit, so I was thinking that maybe there are some things that we can all relate to as anime fans. Whether it's something good like a new anime coming out of our favorite manga, or something bad like a friend walking in when the anime becomes the best, most emotional, or totally ecchi.

Again, I'll ask people to post something that everyone can relate to!

Also. I love these colors. Rainbow motherf**kers!

Trying to find decent anime on dvd/blu-ray at retail stores (even specialty stores!) because you don't want to wait the week or more for an order from a website to be delivered. Or maybe this is just my personal peeve because I don't live in Cali where I can go to Frank and Sons on Wednesday

I would have to say waiting for quality blu rays for our favorite anime (can you say Toradora?).

I agree with SpinSunset on the whole trying to find blu rays at local stores. When I lived in Austin, Texas there were plenty of good places to go to, but here in Corpus Christi it's slim pickings. I am actually going to Austin tomorrow for the weekend so I am hoping to find an anime shop for some blu ray purchases!

At this point, I am sticking to Amazon for a majority of my blu ray purchases. I don't mind waiting the 3-4 days to get them and sometimes they have specials on two day shipping.

Another thing I think some people might relate to is waiting for some of my anime and music CD orders to arrive from Japan. Yes, I buy a ton of music from Japan and sometimes the shipping takes forever. I think the longest I waited was about 25 days for a couple of DVDs. The quickest I ever got something was about 6 days.

One last thing...getting that shipment from overseas only to see that it's a bootleg version and not an original. This happened to me when I was buying all my Yu Gi Oh discs. I was quite annoyed. The only upside was that I used Paypal for all the purchases so when I told them I'd received bootlegs, they refunded all my money.

It looks like you share many of the Otaku pains we all go through as our kind x3

When I ordered a Miku Hatsune chain, it was nothing like the original, and ended up having some weird "American Manufacturing" company on it, and some pieces assembled in 'India". The first time I wanted my stuff to be made in Japan, it wasn't. Just the box it came in... 3 weeks later.

ME TOO!!

It's not that animé looks bad on DVD, but nowadays, it's a pain for me to think about continuing buying DVDs while I could get the blu-ray. For most animé, romatnic comedies and such, the blu-ray won't make much of a difference, but you know, buying a DVD feels antiquated.

That and I like to have it NOW!!! Even if you get it on amazon or whatever for 5$ less, sometimes, AND free shipping, I want it NOW, and I also want to encourage the store that had the guts to order a shipment of my favourite substance in the world (animé).

...That, or I wait for the local animé convention and spend billions of double-dollars!

To make it even worse, when you have a bunch of stuff you're interested in, but can't decide which one to watch.

Or, I'm sure we all relate to this, when there's a show you want to watch that CR doesn't have. I love CR, but sometimes it's frustrating, even though I have an understanding of how licensing works (though I'm no expert).

It's so true - pick any anime, any at all. The most innocent you can find. And your friends/family will pick the exact wrong moment to walk in and think that you're watching some kind of weird cartoon porn from then on.

I'd say not being able to get to an anime convention is something a lot of us can relate to, or having the dealer's room run out of something you really wanted to pick up, like a model kit or CD that you can't really find any other way. Having Suncoast shut down when it was the primary anime DVD shop in your area might be a bit obscure, but boy did that bum me out...

It always seems to be the beach episode. No matter how clean the show may be it is always that part when the girls are in the locker room changing or an embarrassing scene or something.

Totally agree with you there. Do you ever have an issue where you want to watch an anime but then u don't want to be disappointed either so you keep putting it off as long as possible?

I know what you mean x3. What about when you start an anime, but you put it off because you don't want it to end?

Or when there are so many episodes that you'll watch a bunch then stop watching for a while then come back to it and the cycle just continues like that?
