No, it is not a bad thing to get depressed about life in this world after viewing worlds that are so much more inexplicably beautiful.

If you mean depressed as in falling into a depression that could potentially ruin your life, then that is not good. And if that is what happens you should stop.
However if you're referring to just getting a bit emotionally touched from it and not as in a clinical depression, then no, it's not a bad thing.

It seems from the way you phrase things though that you get depressed from watching anime in general. Like as if all anime you watch makes you depressed. If that is the case, then I suggest you vary it up a bit and watch some light hearted happy stuff instead.

Are you watching more serious/depressing shows? I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but if you know you are struggling with depression or suspect that you might I would seek professional help.

Some anime episodes have left me feeling depressed, movies have done that too. Media can bring out several emotions that we may feel and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing so long as they are healthy.

Pretty much every time I finish a series, I get this tug on my heart, with varying intensity depending on the anime and my emotional state. So I would say (as I think you imply) I get depressed from watching anime, and it is frequent, and sometimes intense.

Maybe this isn't depression so much as desire. Or perhaps unsatisfied desire is a form of depression - it's so difficult to express emotions with words sometimes.

What desire? Maybe it's the burning wish to have more experiences with the characters. Or maybe it's the urge to share your feelings with people, but there are no people to reciprocate.

Thoughts, but no answers. Depression and happiness are very tricky words.

Don't you get the same feeling when you read an amazing book and it ends? With anime it seems to be more intense....saying goodbye to a world :(

Sometimes I get the same feeling playing RPG's----like Golden sun.
You learn to let it go after a week or so, maybe even less. But if your depression is persisting, I say you take a break from anime in general...
