I own too many books to count, having 18+ stuffed book shelves around the house . It is hard to get rid of any of them as each of them contain some gem buried in the pages.

The choice, in my mind, is between having access to nearly every book, journal, paper, broadcast, and so on in the world or not. I choose to buy some of these things, but I check for them at libraries first unless it's something I absolutely have to have.

Library books are nice. But for me, owning books isn't just a matter of having something to treasure for years to come, its also a matter of convenience. So I don't mind buying and owning a lot.

I used to work at a couple of Libraries, but I always bought the books they got rid of. There's something about being surrounded by books...Even e-books.
Just because a book catches my interest doesn't mean I want to read it immediately, or return it when I'm finished..

I do both, just because if I can't get a hold of a book one way, I do the other way.

I used to go to the library like 2 years ago but now I just buy because I can increase my collection.

Why can't We have BOTH of course?

I love books. And when I find good books I like to keep them. So I definitely like owning the books I read. I only use the library for school papers.

Both.
Alternatively, for manga, use the internet. I don't care about the repercussions of reading copywritten material. Frankly convenience is all I'm looking for.

no libary around me....:(

I also alternatively give away or otherwise get rid of books frequently. I try to keep a very trim collection of my own.

I only started getting manga from libraries recently. My local library has a poor selection of manga but I discovered they partner with most of the libraries in the county and some of those have a lot of the manga I want to read.

As for books, rarely do I have enough interest to finish a book in a month so being able to keep it forever helps a lot. Also, I found recently highlighting in books helps me with my ADHD when reading so I much prefer ebooks in part for that reason.
