Which one would you rather be if you were one of the two? (anorexic or obese)

They are both a problem in American society and was wondering which one do you think is worse and/or what you would rather be in a choice of of the two.

That's somewhat akin to asking "which would you rather be, on fire or drowning?" - both are terrible afflictions, and they often have several supporting issues that the person has to deal with. And both can lead to death or at least serious health issues.

Basically, Yes. It's a choice between to horrible choices and I know that. I was wondering out of those choices, if you had to make one, which one would most people make.

Don't tell me you never asked people would you rather:
"Die of drowning or by being set on fire"

personally, I would pick being set of fire

I think I would rather be anorexic, as I love eating and hate working out so it would be easier for me to get back to a "normal" weight

Er, no, I never asked anyone that intentionally, I was trying to use it as a point of comparison only.. but, I guess since you answered, I will as well - obese. Anorexia often has other major problems with muscle degradation and even bone weakening which can last a lifetime. Obesity comes with joint issues due to the extra pressure they experience, but even after years of being obese, it is possible to recover so long as you can get better before the pressure on the heart, lungs, or liver become too difficult for the body to deal with.

Either is possible to recover from given time and the proper treatment, I should add. I simply worry more about loss of bone in general, since it can lead to broken hips and legs and other issues that can inhibit recovery while the body fixes those problems.

If you had anorexia, I'm pretty sure you would be affected psychologically. So you would be deliberately trying to lose weight, starve yourself, and excessively work out.

Ehh I would rather be obese so I could fit in with the traditional gamer/anime/otaku type representation haha. But honestly neither cause both have horrible effects on both your mind and body

Anorexia and obesity are both serious health conditions.

I really don't understand the point of this thread.

The beauty of being obese is center of gravity need not be as influencing a factor during flotation as being thin given the same situation. If I can just get my blubber to bulk up like the muscle tissue I'm positive I'll be able to let contracts out very soon on my propensity with 100% confidence knowing my time spent as a bobbing buoy in any given metropolitan harborway will allow towing companies the bigger bang for their commercial dollars spent being guided by my aquatic service floundering up and down.

I'm also checking into possibilities of diet that will ensure cranium swelling. If I can increase the diameter between my ears and level out the cranial apex larger rotating beacons can rest firmly there while keeping my head dry. Win--win. You have no idea how hard it can be to negotiate a barge through dark water channels past the myriad odd placements of sand bars, protruding rocks, moribund dragon corpses.

That said, I choose obesity because there's just more money in it for those with a touch of the entrepreneurial spirit.

It's just choice of two things that both horrible health Issues. Have you not wondered out of two bad situations, which one you would pick and what one would other people would pick? Even if it is a Catch-22.

example

Would you rather get shot or stabbed?

Have you never been around friends, bored, just talking about such things?

The point is to see what one people would pick.
