Neither. I can't even believe that I had the opportunity to choose between the two most sensitive & serious health conditions. Really?
If you choose any of this, I really do not know what planet I should belong.

Er, no, I never asked anyone that intentionally, I was trying to use it as a point of comparison only.. but, I guess since you answered, I will as well - obese. Anorexia often has other major problems with muscle degradation and even bone weakening which can last a lifetime. Obesity comes with joint issues due to the extra pressure they experience, but even after years of being obese, it is possible to recover so long as you can get better before the pressure on the heart, lungs, or liver become too difficult for the body to deal with.

Either is possible to recover from given time and the proper treatment, I should add. I simply worry more about loss of bone in general, since it can lead to broken hips and legs and other issues that can inhibit recovery while the body fixes those problems.

The point is that in life you have to pick a option, sometimes, out of all bad options. Even though they might seem equally as bad to everyone else; you will mental pick one that is the best outcome to you. In doing this you will try to rationalize your answer.

Someone that is bipolar has the option to take their medication to even out there mood and make it consistent, or have the option to not take there medication because they might have one of their rare manic episodes that makes them feel incredibly euphoric.

I bet to you there is only one rationalize option, but to something with bipolar It might be the opposite.

I was testing a conjecture I had, but in tell you this it basically defeats the purpose, but I don't think that to many people will respond to the question.

being bipolar, I can tell you, the option for me is usually "take the medication and feel stable all the time, or feel like a worthless fleshbag for 9 months out of the year so that in the other 3 months you can waste all of your money and make questionable decisions while alienating your friends and family and thinking your existence is on par with the second coming of Jesus... until your mania is over. Then damage control while extremely depressed!"

Both are bad for your health and can be life threatening. Would you rather be shot in the head or the heart? Do you want your arms severed or your legs cut off first? Do you want to go blind due to lack of nutrients or lose your limbs due to diabetes? There's no winning in these comparisons. I've experienced anorexia at one point in my life and it's no joke. I was actually 5'10" and only weighed 110 lbs at 19 years old. You have no idea how hard it can be to gain some muscle mass after you've lost it all.

Why can't you just be a healthy, normal weight? Wouldn't that make more sense than the extremes? What is it with Americans in choosing "one" or "the other", why can't they just be content choosing the "Happy medium"?

They are both a problem in American society and was wondering which one do you think is worse and/or what you would rather be in a choice of of the two.

I think being anorexic is WAY worse. I don't really have much experience with either (although some in my family are obese). But I think being anorexic would be more dangerous considering people who are anorexic literally see themselves as 'too fat' and will keep trying to lose weight. I think with obesity you KNOW you are obese and there's no huge mental disorder going on. Then again, I really don't much about both but what I've heard.

Of course their both terrible for your health; everyone knows that. It's a simple question between 2 horrible options. I don't mean any malice behind the question and this isn't supposed to be a question with a winning outcome. Also, your first comparison is accurate, and personally I would rather be shot in the head then be shot in the heart.

Here is a question for you. Do you think that Canadians and Americans are that much different from one another?

I was anorexic from 7th til a freshman in college. No matter what I wouldn't gain weight. After that, I finally got help and now I gained a bit of weight. I'd still rather be anorexic than obese.
