Might want to be careful of this... I saw a recent article about some filing by California against Bitcoins.

Hi everyone!

I discovered this site (shame on me for being that late) after hearing about the Oreimo OVA streaming. This alone is enough reason for me to sign up for a premium account and I want to say "+1 for Bitcoin"! Would make things easier for me. Now I have to ask a friend for his credit card.

I would be happy to purchase a year (or more) of Crunchyroll with Bitcoins. I recently spent Bitcoins to purchase a year at privateinternetaccess.com I'm all in.

Bitcoin has a problem with high transaction fees and long transaction times:

Bitcoin itself has no problem with high transaction fees. It has a problem with scalability.
High fees are due to free market, nobody was forced to pay such high fees, everyone that uses a wallet himself and not an online service was able to select a fee individually, depending on how important his transaction was in his eyes.
But many people at that time were just following the hype and didnt inform themselves at all about how it works, what you can do and so on.

But even if one wants to connect those "problems" to bitcoin itself, they arent currently existing.
Fees on average are currently at 1-2$ per transaction (https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html#1y) including batched transactions from exchanges which have like 5$ per transaction with actually 20 real outputs and pull the average up.
A normal user like i can send a typical transaction for less than 10 cents if he wants to with wallets like Electrum or the Bitcoin Core Wallet.

Confirmation time is currently between 10-60 minutes, didnt wait for any of my transactions longer than that in the last 2 months.
Mempool is pretty empty (https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions), segwit adoption is rising slowly and lightning will also get more used in the future.
As example someone could set up a payment channel with crunchyroll with x.xxx BTC and send every month the necessary amount to crunchyroll feeless (besides the one for opening the channel).

There are many other crypto currencies out there that don't suffer from a time lapse in processing a transaction and the fees can be modified due to payment method so your argument is mute.

Well if you consider it a suffer from time lapse in processing a transaction (which i dont do personally) than you still have the option to use the lightning network and pay instantly without fees at all if you exchange money with the party you have a channel open with. If its through routing you can end up paying a puny fee that is not worth a current cent, but it is all backed by the security of the blockchain of bitcoin. How safe do you consider the majority of crypto currencies that first of all have nearly no userbase at all, have not been tested to the degree bitcoin has been, some are even closed source, cant even talk about their scalability due to the lack of usage and where sometimes the meaning behind the coin isnt even clear. While the purpose of bitcoin is pretty clear.

The majority of coins falls into the category of shitcoins and the established coins dont all "compete" with bitcoin and have their own usecases they were made for. So i dont know if there are really that MANY other coins that have been tested to the degree bitcoin has been, are open source so everyone that has the knowledge can search for bugs or back doors by the devs, had their scalability already tested to the degree bitcoins has been, have as many contributers to improving the coin or are as democratic as bitcoin. Dont get me wrong, there are some established coins, even some that compete with bitcoin, but the hate that bitcoin gets by the media and people that wanna be the one that found the bitcoin killer, is just beyond valid criticism lately. And there is more than enough valid criticism for bitcoin.

My favorite coin isnt even bitcoin. But it is an established coin that has a clear purpose and that is one i totally support and its not like anyone is forced to use it. Its the same when bitcoin fanboys hate on paypal......like anyone is forcing you to use it, you most likely use it because it is either the cheapest option you have offered or the fastest and the most important part is to have options. Being able to pay with credit card, paypal, bitcoin and other payment options isnt hurting anyone.
