As I've already said. I'm not having a problem with streaming via my laptop over my network. I can stream at 720p just fine (I don't usually try to stream in 1080p because of the slower processor/graphics in my laptop).

And I've just today played back HD video from Netflix, Vimeo, and NBC News over the same Roku connected to the same network.

I've also streamed HD movies just fine from Amazon video without problems in the recent past.

And I've re-started my modem/router/Roku in that order several times. And re-established the connection from the Roku settings screen every time.

It doesn't look like you should be having any issues streaming.
Can you tell me where you are located?
Let's see if changing your DNS helps out at all.
You can get directions on how to do that here.

I am willing to give this a try.

However, with the number of people who have reported this issue in the Roku forums over the last two months. I'm having a hard time believing that changing the DNS settings in their router is the solution to this problem. Especially when the streaming problem I've had with my Roku is related to Crunchyroll only.

My ISP is TW/RR located in upstate NY. If you look at the results from speedtest and pingtest is shows the locations of the nearby servers used.

Can you tell me how the alternate DNS worked?

It seems that it restored at least one dot of quality, but the stream still dropped and re-buffered after about a minute (or less) of playback and again re-buffers extremely slow. But at least not showing a drop in quality.

It did seem to play through after the second (slower) re-load.

I seem to be having a similar issue with my Roku LT.

Other sources are playing fine on the Roku and Crunchyroll seems fine on my iPad and ancient Mac Mini on the same network.

I'm in the UK if it makes any difference.

Cheers!

Same issue as OP. Roku needs to take responsibility and fix this. I only use CR on my Roku, but it just isn't watchable any more. Considering canceling my subscription until it gets fixed.
