Also the post above me has a point, Hollywood do have great Marvel and DC based live action movies. So the only thing that could turn out to be bad with Bleach live is actors, voice types etc. Also if a bad hollywood studio does it, maybe we'll see some line equipment when the Shinigami jump over the town. :p

Johnny Depp for Kisuke Urahara!! xD

Yes.

Considering how Dragonball Evolution turned out, I expect several really important characters to just be left out, as Krillin was.

I don't know... The Japanese live action of Death Note wasn't all that great either... It would depend who directs it and who the cast are...
The live action Yamato wasn't that bad at all...

But Tite Kubo stated long ago that he made bleach so it couldn't be made into a live-action adaptation..

I think we have to go support it regardless of how good it is, just to leave the door open for better live-action manga adaptations to be successful in the future. I'm pinning my hopes on HBO's adaptation of Urasawa's Monster, and if that project gets stalled because of some failed Bleach movie, I'm going to be severely disappointed.

The thing with Death Note is that it is too long to make a faithful movie adaptation IMO. I say they use the idea of the Death Note, keep the characters (take out the Shinigami), but change the story entirely. Something shorter that was meant for a theatrical release. Writing a story for Death Note can't be that hard.

Although the ONLY anime/manga I can see working in the US would be Monster, and boy do I want those plans for a Live Acton Monster series to come through.

A shitty movie isn't going to ruin the anime you "know and love." The anime is finished, there will be no more. It's already what it is. As for it's reputation, I do think it's a shame about what will most likely come to be.

Aha, I do remember that rumor emerging from the interwebs. If I recall they were supposed to make a Naruto live action movie as well. I also remember that Zac Efron was supposed to play as Light for the Death Note film. Which, I can see why from look wise. Although, I do not think Efron could not take on such a dark role. I dunno, hopefully everything goes well and we have a kick ass director directing these films. I mean, the whole Avatar fandom is after M.Shyamalan Night for ruining the Avatar movie. In the next movie he expects to make Toph have vision and acted by Kiki Palmer.

It was announced years ago and is in development hell just like death note. Will probably never see the light of day which is good.
