Wow, looks like I can't even post a new topic without "Crunchyroll points" to complain about my issue.

I subscribed to a free trial 1 month ago and canceled the free trial after 2 days. Today I happened to spot a subscription charge from Crunchyroll on my credit card bill, 2 days before the automatic payment. Luckily I caught it and disputed the charge so I won't be scammed out of my money.

This is very sleazy and I expected better. Blocking new topics that aren't from long-time customers simply adds to the sleaziness: it effectively discourages criticism from anyone but devoted customers and keeps it out of the public eye.

Oh, that's not supposed to happen.
The restriction for being unable to create a new thread unless you have 500 points shouldn't count in the help section. It's meant to function only outside the Help forums.

It probably happened because we recently created new sections to divide up the help forums, and unfortunately the restriction wasn't removed from the new ones.

Thank you for bringing it up with us, as for the subscription charge issue; I'll talk to one of the support reps and see what they can say about it.

For future reference, you can also contact support here:

Hi there!

That's probably my fault.

I recently gave the forums a facelift.

I've just had a look through our email archives and I do not see any emails asking for assistance.

Do you have the automated email our system sent you to confirm your cancellation? Can you please forward that to me?

Apologies for any inconvenience.

Best,
-Baker

I just submitted a ticket. I don't see a record of cancellation (before today); not sure why.

This situation could be avoided by sending an e-mail (to their primary e-mail account) near the end of the trial reminding users that they'll soon be billed. Or better yet: don't automatically bill people when the trial expires to begin with.

There are many great anime that aren't One Piece or Fairy Tail, and many of those reside here at Crunchyroll. Though I'll admit the selection is fairly limited, even here in just Canada - I can't imagine the limitations in Sweden.

But if you just spend a little time here, I think you'll find quite a few anime that peak your interest. Not going to sit here and convince you to purchase a membership, but at least use up that free trial that you've got going for you, maybe your perspective will change by the end of it.
