PS4 for sure. They're leagues ahead! Superior specs for $100 less? Yes please! No intrusive drm to play games (online authentication)? no restrictions on sharing games or selling used games? Thank you very much.

PS4 for me.

I skipped over the last generation of consoles all together, but from what I'm seeing it's a no brainer.

PS4.. if you haven't read about the specs running in BOTH consoles... then you aren't a true gamer JS
BUT the xbox one is going to make getting preowned games nearly impossible and stupid to do. The Kinect will ALWAYS be active, It'll ONLY work if it facing you, and it's geared around social media and family. Not games.
I love xbox but screw them

PS4 PS4!!

Oh, and the PlayStation 4 won't be region locked. Because why should it? Have fun with your Japanese games!

Which also means I can import US anime! Hurray!

I'm kind of hoping the game makers realize the potential this gives them for overseas sales. I know plenty of people who would gladly get a game imported from Japan if the Japanese release included an english translation of the script.

Little extra money for a good translator and they can sell directly to gamers overseas

I have both the 360 and the first Xbox, which is why I'm really disappointed about Microsoft and the Xbox One. I have never really been much of a Playstation fan, so I won't be buying the PS4 either. I would rather spend my money on a Wii U or a 3DS.

I actually like the "always on" feature for Xbox One...but I can't ignore the inferior specs and the obvious shift to a multimedia device. I understand why they're doing it, but it devalues the system for me as a gamer. Now, I have to want/need it as a set-top device to justify purchasing it, otherwise i'm spending money on features that I may not utilize. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably own one someday and like it, but not right out of the gate.

So, I'm going with the PS4. Already have the vita so I'm halfway there lol.

^ Same here. I liked the Xbox and LOVED the Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 was basically to this generation what the PS2 was to the last generation. I LOVE Nintendo too. The only reason I don't buy Nintendo's console is because for me Mario and all his friends can only last me so long. Even though all the games are amazing, that's all the console has most of the time. Plus I only have fun with Nintendo games when I have people to play with, and I don't like playing games with people as much as I used to. So all I have left now is the PS4, which is fine I guess.

Xbox got it right first, then flushed it all down the drain, while Sony improved based on consumer feedback and common sense. PS4 is the way to go this time, atleast at launch.

And for those of you who think PS4 isn't backwards compatible, PS4 is actually gonna implement that through cloud-based emulators, so YES u can really play PSX, PS2, and PS3 games through internet streaming to your PS4 and most likely the Vita as well. Additionally, Sony hasn't ruled out the possibility that, in the near future, the PS4 could be configured to play ACTUAL DISCS of previous gen titles.

I'll probably end up buying both again, just like with the previous generation of consoles.
Although looking how Microsoft is currently handling PR along with the rules and restrictions they are implementing on the console I will most likely not be among the early adopters for the XB1.

Sony has clarified its stance on PlayStation 4 game "restrictions," after executive Jack Tretton said earlier today on Spike TV that decisions about DRM would be left up to third-party publishers.

In a statement sent to GameSpot, Sony confirmed its Online Pass program will not be extended to first-party PS4 titles and that no "gating restrictions" will be in place for disc-based games on the system.

"The Online Pass program for PlayStation first-party games will not continue on PlayStation 4. Similar to PS3, we will not dictate the online used game strategy (the ability to play used games online) of its publishing partners," reads a line from the statement.

"As announced last night, PS4 will not have any gating restrictions for used disc-based games," the statement goes on. "When a gamer buys a PS4 disc they have right to use that copy of the game, so they can trade-in the game at retail, sell it to another person, lend it to a friend, or keep it forever."

This plan differs from that of Microsoft, which has said that decisions about whether or not secondhand Xbox One games can be resold will be left up to publishers. In addition, secondhand Xbox One sales will be available only at unspecified "participating retailers."

PS4. I probably won't get one at launch because of the launch titles I know of so far the only one I have interest in is Killzone: Shadowfall. I was hoping to see more first party exclusives at the Sony show.
