Do you agree that each film would join the Billion Dollar Club
and set records higher and more unreachable than God?

I would die the moment they announce LEGIT movie remakes
for the FF7, FF8, FF9 and FF10 games! Imagine the slayage.
Forget Harry Potter and the others, the yearly release of FF movies
WOULD BE A PHENOMENON!

(note that I'm talking about ANIMATION here,
not a movie w/ real actors playing the parts.)

Thoughts?

What I love about Final Fantasy so much is how the game is so gripping. In 7,8,9 and 10 (only the first part) I genuinely felt a part of each of the characters, the story lines would make for great films.

But I dont think it would do as well as some of the other films out there like The Avengers or Harry Potter or even Lord Of the Rings as I dont think would appeal to enough people to reach those hights

Final fantasy just doesn't have the fan base it once had. Many people stopped liking it once it changed from squaresoft to square enix which would be 11-15. Personally my favorites are 9, 11, and 12, yet I know I am in the minority.

I'm not sure if video games translate to movie the same way as other media like books and comics.

I think 10 could make a decent film. That said 13 was basically just a bloody film.;.

A ff8 animated movie would probably blow me away. The game itself was everything a romanticist could ask for in a story. A animated movie of it would just bring it to life for the eyes. Squall never did get enough screen time anyways. Advent Children was popular enough, surprised they stopped making movies for them.

Even final fantasy the spirits within was a great movie.

-hmm...

No. No way in hell.

But it could be fun anyway as long as they don't screw it up.

The way the games are presented, and this includes both the cut scene cinematics and the actual play, already feels to me like watching anime. An amazingly good anime. I mean, they did make Advent Children, so your idea isn't completely far fetched. However, I like to think that playing the games themselves is 10 times better than watching a movie because the player is directly involved in the outcome.

I think FFXV will be the best interactive movie ever! No need to bring it to theatres!

That said.... I'd still get a chick boner if they did make all of them into movies.

Final Fantasy games could make great legit movies. Problem is, I highly doubt that anyone would put the amount of effort into it that they would deserve. I think it would be Resident Evil all over again. It seems Hollywood thinks video game movies are just quick cash grabs.

Would be pretty cool idea for 1-6! but after Hironobu Sakaguchi left and stopped making the games they went downhill and I wouldn't want to see movies for games I do not like. 7,8, 10-2, and 13 I'm looking at yall.

lmfao. If it ever gets confirmed they'd do something like that we'll probably be waiting until PS5 and they'll have it renamed FFVI.

On topic though it'd never get anywhere near the popularity of the movie franchises mentioned. I'd like to see it done although, what I'd like even more is for them to focus on getting out quality games.

IF only Advent Children didn't flop as hard as it did, who could have known how many movies the FF franchise would have spawned over these years.
So IMO, even if there's a god, there won't be any FF movies because of that floppage mess that is FF7: Advent Children. If there's a god, he'll reverse time and make it a success.

My vote was: I would love for it to happen, and probably million others as well, but I doubt it will.

I would love to see a movie of FF8, it didn't feel complete to me... the relationship between Laguna and Squall was inconclusive. All the other titles felt complete to me and I don't really care if there's a movie or not. And I don't understand how FF13 got 2 sequels... (even though I love the game, 2 sequels is too much for me to handle considering the 1st one was very satisfying and complete).

I think I'd be more interested in HD remakes of the original 8-bit games, 1-6. Especially 4, as that is my second favorite FF after 9.
