I've had no problems with Ichigo 100% ending actually, haha. I think I'm the only person who I've met that actually liked the series too.

I agree 100% (heh) about Veritas, it ruined such a otherwise amazing Manhwa. It was kinda slow at times, but it had such real potential.. so saddened, I always had hopes for some type of sequel or even something like Shaman King (as i'm gonna soon mention)

Yu Yu Hakusho, although I don't remember the ending after all these years, I believe had a bad ending in my opinion as-well. But not BADBAD, just not up to the usual standard of amazing-ness for the rest of th series.

Shaman King, well although nonsensical and just stupid, has a second and real ending. The mangaka re-released large parts of the final parts, under the name of, "Shaman King Kang Zeng Bang". It is SO MUCH better, and if you haven't read it I highly suggest you do.

Reborn!'s ending just cheese's me so much.. Tsuna has changed like.. 0.0000000001 since the start of the manga, how has he not become a badass?! like god damn.

Defense Devil

This is one of the most underwhelming and biggest wastes of a series in the history of manhwa, imo.

It had the most potential I'd seen since Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai. But some parts of it weren't done that well, and then there is obviously the ending which just made it a big waste of potential. I really hope one day they decide to re-do it, and this time, do it right.

Slam Dunk

Is in my top 5 of all time, even with just about the worst ending to a series I've ever seen. The one shot he released after didn't help at all. I won't lie when I say I cried at the thought that I wouldn't get to see what happened later.

Was on its way to legendary status before getting cancelled. One of my saddest manga moments. It clearly affected his stock in Japan, having only one 'real' series after this, with the rest being one shots.. and the one series not a one shot ending at 3 volumes.

Was done long before the ending imo.. just about when sora regained his legs and became some evil guy, and obama appearing.

Oh! Great really sucks at keeping stories going, sadly. (you can see this with Tenjou Tenge I believe ass-well)

School Rumble

I agree entirely.. I loved every single moment up until the final volume. THEN THE AUTHOR MADE A NEW MANGA CALLED 'SCHOOL RUMBLE Z'.. which had NO EFFECT AT ALL on the story and was little more than the characters in weird situations. I hate you so much Jin-sensei. SO MUCH

and to add my own onto the list:
Double Arts - just as it started to get good.. bam. DAMN YOU JAPAN
B. Reaction - one of the best and most interesting concepts.. and just bam, canceled. siigggggggh
Blaster Knuckle - I guess Japan doesn't like the KKK being depcitied as vampire-type things and being hunted down by an african american.
You Are Dok-Jon - again, just like b. reaction, so damn good and interesting.. and then just up and canceled. I dont even think it had an ending.
Ore to Akuma no Blues - another manga that follows an african american canceled.. god damnit japan, get it together.
Togari - this got a new sequel 9 years later, and its given me hope for any manga thats been canceled/given an abrput ending, although i dont know if the sequel fixed the overall bad-ness of the ending.
My Name Is Zushio - top 10 comedy, ever. and there is far to little of it..
Change Guy - so many things left unfinished, left a bad taste in my mouth.
Kurogane - one of my favourite manga ever, but an absolute bad ending, imo.
Pretty Face - ended way too soon, and didn't flesh the story out as much as it could've.
Eden no Ori - explained so very little, still.. just NO.

long post ftw.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. I hated the ending. As if it was bad enough with all the confusing plot twists.

I know everyone tends to love anything CLAMP gives us, and I do respect them and their works. But this was the one time they had failed me. Tsubasa started as a great idea. It was cool that they were trying to combine their previous classics. But the end result was a disaster.

Agreed....I kept waiting for a sequel but never got it.

Weird...I actually liked the ending for Ichigo 100%. It felt "right" that he wound up with the girl instead of the one everyone expected. If you go through their history, she was the one who did the most for him, supported him, and really stuck her neck out for him. The girl that everyone expected had her moments but her devotion to the main character was nowhere nearly as strong.

As for bad endings, recently I'd say Negima has one of the worst endings. They completely skipped through an entire arc right at the very end. Another extremely awful one was School Rumble which started out as being an amazing manga but they totally butchered it in the last volume.

I loved the ending to Ichigo 100% too.

As for with Negi, I felt betrayed at first too. I was like how can he end the manga like this after such an awesome arc! but then I found out that it was not exactly an ending, that Negi ending was pretty much Akamatsu saying that he needs to put the series on hiatus for an undetermined amount of time. Basically there was a whole bunch of legal crap going down at, I think, Kodansha. Basically, Akamatsu might have lost his exclusive rights to the manga, it's not so odd in America but in Japan the author and not the publisher seems to retain most of the IP rights. So basically since he did not know where this legal crap was going, he figured he should cut the series short and get the hell out of there before they can claim the series as their own. Basically he had to give the manga a crappy ending because he might have had his IP rights compromised if he stuck around.

The only other manga I have read in its entirety in recent years has been Asu no Yoichi. I wouldn't say that it had a bad ending so much as it is bad that it wasn't finished. The manga ended like a canceled TV show, they had many more questions to answer but it looks like no one wants to publish it so it is finished. It's sad because I thought that was a really good manga too :(.

I will have to finish Air Gear, but I am not surprised that had a bad ending. Air Gear had it that each Arc in itself was interesting but the arcs did not fit well together, and then Oh Great started doing this crap where like instead of action 90% of each chapters was like scientific and philosophical exposition. :/

The ending of Defense Devil angers me. They could have made use of several very good plot devices, but they were trashed and the main character was even transformed into a blatantly over-done "Gary Stu" during the last arc or two. Needless to say, I was/am vastly disappointed in the manga.

I believed it was cut short since the manga was not getting popular.
It had to be ended in some way.

The anime? Yes. Even the pics, moves, and scenes were reused.

The manga. No.
I thought it was perfect. The story almost revolves around Sakuragi. He did spectacular as a rookie and it'll be weird if he became the no. 1 on his first year.

His rehabilitation was appropriate; it gives the audience the idea that he'll make it someday. I think the purpose of the manga is to bring the inner player within the reader. Let's admit it, Sakuragi was a thug. He joined the basketball team to get his girl. However, as it went on, he loved playing basketball; he loved being a basketball player. So, I think the manga ended on the right place. It implies to the reader to drop the manga and start doing things you love. Get off your butt and put passion/conviction to your work/job/career/activity/etc.
Be the Sakuragi of your own. Tensai.

Strawberry Panic!

I haven't read much manga, but it was the worst ending I've ever read. How the hell are they going to end it in the middle of a race?!
