Wolf Guy Ookami no Monshou had a terrible ending. The main female character's life was ruined completely in the most sickening way ever and she went off to live with wild wolves in Alaska. The villain dies in an incredible lackluster way for all that he did and the main character ended up a vegetable. Actually the whole 3rd part of this manga was absolute tripe.

Hitman Reborn was bad. The mangaka essentially mitigated all the development the main character went trhough over the course of the 300+ chapter run and everything goes back to how it was at chapter 1. That was horrible.

Vampire Knight was also bad. The main female has been in this overly melodramatic love triangle with two guys for however long but she always seemed to value one over the other significantly. In the end she has kids from both guys and ends up never choosing between the two to the very end. Stupid main character. Stupidly written manga. The Twilight of manga.

You know that is a crappy ending, I really liked the ending of the Vampire Knight anime but I'm glad I did not read the manga now.

I agree completely with Wolf Guy. I didn't start the manga to get 5 chapters of harcore rape hentai -_-

I get that sometimes rape can be used as a plot device, but don't draw it in extreme detail over several chapters in the middle of an action/drama/horror(werewolves) manga.

She was raped for like 20 chapters straight, not 5. That pissed me off.

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan- I can't say it without spoiling it. But just. Ugh.
Homunculus- This one was sort of satisfying but still angered me I guess?
OreImo- (light novel but whatever)

Well, if you condense the chapters her rape (as in, just the scenes of her actually being raped) is spread over, it is closer to one-two (maybe three-four if you include all the news reels, video streams, and forum posts). Really, at least they didn't show it scene for scene like other works out there - one such title is Gamtz, a doujin of Gantz (though, the detail wasn't Gantz level, or that would have been overkill and made it 10x more sickening).

It didn't necessarily have a bad ending, just the kind you would expect from a manga (remake of a 1970 manga, actually) as dark in nature as this. It wasn't going to be all sunshine and rainbows, obviously (though, personally, that would have been hilarious if it was), but it wasn't going to be "happy" either. Be thankful it didn't end in total tragedy, is all I'm saying.

I wasn't expecting a happy ending at all. I fully expected him to die the entire time, but what I did not expect and was completely uncalled for were the pages upon pages of hardcore gang rape equivalent to a lot of hardcore gang rape hentai

Arguing that another manga was worse at something doesn't change that this manga was also bad. There were many things in this manga that was just badly written. Many unnecessary subplots and many pointless directions it took. The 20 chapter long rape being the most vivid. The whole confrontation with Hagaro or whatever his name was, was an absolute disappointment. You'd think after all the things that led up to that moment we'd get a pay off. No, his apparently invincible body dies by a single sword wound, which worse, was an accident. Just because it's a remake doesn't mean it has to be as bad. I thought the point of remakes was to improve, and not just on the art. This was a failure at trying to invoke feelings of tragedy from the readers and just ended up being repulsive.

Yeah, it'd be hard to expect that. I wouldn't call it uncalled for, maybe if it were toned down a bit it would have been better. Though, given the dark and mature nature of the story, at least they didn't show us it scene for scene for scene, you know?

I never said that the other manga being worse at something changed the fact that this manga's ending was bad. The thing about this remake is that, besides being a lot more darker and mature in nature, the characters were the same, the premise was the same, but when it comes down to it they were totally different stories.

Remake - Make (something) again or differently.

In this sense of the word, the source material this manga is adapted from was made much darker in content, not necessarily "better", per say.

When I meant "it didn't necessarily have a bad ending", I meant the scenes with her moving to Alaska and him actually being alive at the end. Personally, I wanted it to be a harsher ending for the two main characters (I could go into more about that if you want), but it didn't happen. I guess what I mean is: the ending could have been better, but it wasn't bad for what it was. Also, I didn't like how the kids were all in middle school, I found it not all that believable. Of course, these are my opinions. I will say though, yes, the story did go downhill and that is a fact. It leaves one feeling... disappointed.

An arguably better work to check out from Yoshiaki Tabata and Yuuki Yugo is Akumetsu.

First off, you seem a little on the defensive side, so I just want to say that if it seemed like it, I didn't mean to come off aggressive. I understand what you mean a lot better now and while I do enjoy a dark story and a dark ending every now and again, this wasn't one could enjoy. Not after the R chapters. Not after it was broadcasted worldwide. Not after the lackluster fight and death of the villain. It just felt cruel, and I'm of a large group of people who feel this way. Actually I find people who enjoyed the ending of Wolf Guy to be in the minority so I agree with you. A dark ending I liked was the ending to the Devilman manga. I'll have a look at Akumetsu.

I didn't think you were coming off as aggressive at all, I was just saying I didn't say that. Also, I felt I had to explain it more clearly, and I understand everything you're saying.

Anyway, enough about all that, the thing about Wolf Guy and, at that, Akumetsu, is that they aren't things that should be "enjoyed", but rather "experienced". You know?

At least, that's what I think.

When he was sent a CD of his teacher getting raped i laughed. Wo even gave them the idea that they were together or anything? She was just a pretty woman. Like how can you expect someone who you think is evil will give two shits about her? Anyway, the other guy that got bum raped and killed...lol come on now.

I'm going to completely agree with Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I read from the beginning to end, and it closes with such a bad ending. We don't know what happens to Tsuna or the other characters, it just ends with pretty much "Let's find Tsuna a girlfriend". I know it was already dragged out, but the ending could have at least used some more effort.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles is the worst I've read.

Don't get me wrong. I love CLAMP works.

I got so confused at the end because of the plot twist that I might have to read it again just to fully understand it. Cause even now I still don't fully understand what took place at the end.
