Bakuman, it wasn't terrible but I felt it was rushed and ended abruptly.

Hope they do a one off special/epilogue, especially showing their children!

One Pound Gospel. It had an ending that the author (Rumiko Takahashi, a manga legend) seems to have forced onto the series almost 2 decades after she had stopped working on it. Not only was the art-style and story pacing different as a result, but modern-day devices were anachronistically inserted into the work, which was completely incongruous with the setting of the original (it starts in the 80's, but suddenly people are using cell phones???). The final fight was also completely unsatisfying, pitting the lead character against a 'pretty-boy' opponent (it just didn't feel like a good fit, it made a work originally targeted at young adults seem more like it was for teenagers).

The All-New Tenchi Muyo. You could sort of tell it was canceled by the somewhat rushed, relatively 'out-there' ending. It was an overall well-paced series, great fun when it was episodic, and at least decently told when it got into more dramatic story arcs. But the ending threw in bizarre, almost fanfic-level revelations into the mix, that just came across badly.

Read Or Die. A short manga series, and understandably so. The ending is unbelievably corny and over-dramatic, I couldn't help but sell my collection when I was finished reading it. The art was fantastic, and the setup was just as compelling as the OVA, but it completely fell apart when they decided to force a generally interesting cast of characters into a high school setting and turn the drama dial up to 11.

I'd also add Kurogane and Steam Detectives, not because they ended bad (they're actually pretty good series) but because they didn't really have endings --- it seemed as though they got canned before the authors could even try to end them.

Seriously, Gantz. That wasn't even an ending. It explained nothing. It just ended once the battle was done.......then didn't explain anything after. For a long running manga, how dare they end it like that.

In the defense of a lot of the mangas stated (and their respective mangakas), most rushed endings or endings that felt as if the author "gave up" was simply due to the fact that they were cut from the magazine that they were publishing in and were forced to end their series. It's a huge shame really, but don't blame the mangakas for it (unless they chose to end their series badly).

EVERY SINGLE ONE. How dare they end!? What am I supposed to do with my life now? What's there to look forward to next week/month?
Oh look, this new series has promise.

Although its a classic manga - I didn't like the ending to Death Note due to the fact that L died a few volumes before and his successors were awful characters (especially Near)

I agree. I understood what the creators were going for, but I still found the last few volumes lacklustre.
