I would actually have to finish a series to answer this...

Especially a series that has actually ended...

I shall get back to you!! Though it may be a few months unless I come across a lot of money to spend on manga...

Mahou Sensei Negima: The overall story had a good ending, but they left the romance/harem just up in the air. We know he ends up with one of them because of Chao but we never find out who.

MxO it just ended because it got cancelled

Yubisaki Milk Tea also just stopped because it was canceled

Aku No Hana will if he actually gives up everything he's managed to get after everything that happened and goes back to that stupid bitch

Baki the grappler has the absolute worst ending EVER seriously, worst ever in the history of forever. God it sucks so bad. The whole series is about surpassing his father who is the psycho devil possesed king of martial arts, a pure evil badass. So they have their final fight by imagining they're sitting down at an imaginary table eating imaginary noodles and baki imagines he flips over the imaginary table and then his dad is like OMFG!! You're so badass, I have already lost so I'll just give up like a pathetic bitch even though there's not a scratch on me.

The end.

Seriously what the sh*t is that if not the worst ending ever.

Thank goodness I read this first! I had just started reading Baki about a month ago (off-and-on), so now I can ignore it altogether. Disappointing to hear about Tenjo Tenge (also started it) and Soul Eater (on my list), but now I can devote time to other mangas.

My honorable mentions:

RAVE (Master) - You could tell Mashima was rushing to end it because he left a lot of the characterizations unfinished (Musica, Let and Julia, etc), and the final battle was VERY underwhelming (nothing can stop Haru--even the end of the universe). The plot revelations near the end were bordering on pointless and it was obvious that Mashima was half-assing it as he went. Yes; you could tell that he was about to give birth to Fairy Tail as he was wrapping up RAVE, but it just felt like a "there you go, now leave me alone!" ending that really hurt the overall pull of Rave as a story especially when you see that he put so much effort into it in the early chapters.

LiVeS - It's only ten chapters, but the art and characterizations are great; sadly, at the end the plot completely falls apart (way too much Deus Ex Machina in the final chapter). The fight at the end is amazing, but everything else leave you scratching your head and wondering where the rest of the story is because there's hardly any plot development until the near end and the last couple of pages which just end abruptly.

Pumpkin Scissors - Is there an ending?!

Eyeshield 21 - It honestly should have either ended at the Christmas bowl with Deimon's win OR Deimon's loss (which, IMO, would have been better) leaving the door open for a new generation of Devilbat players to take on the world---not the American Football World Cup thing that seems so out of place.

Series that I'm seriously worried about having a bad ending:

Berserk -- Miura, please FIX Gats/Guts!!! Making him the Team Dad and showing compassion to other people is SO not him. I feel that the story has gotten so convoluted through character development (reborn Griffith and the mysterious moon child) that Miura simply can't finish it.

Claymore - As much as I like the huge battle that's going on right now with all of the new generation Claymore's and the Seven Survivors fighting the last of the super-powerful awakened beings and reborn Priscilla , it's obvious that Yagi is rushing to finish the series which makes me very worried.

ONE PIECE - Oda, we all want to get on with our lives--I don't want to be 40 (I'm 29 now) and still wondering whether Luffy has found One Piece. Just don't half-ass it and put everything you have into ending it as best as humanly possible within five years and call it a day.

Eden no Ori (Cage of Eden) - The ending was extremely rushed. I wasn't completely disappointed with the end result but it was pretty much wrapped up in 3 chapters with some plot holes still remaining.
SKET Dance - it just feels like it needs one more chapter. The ending was too open for my likes.

Ranma 1/2 had the most disappointing ending for a manga - after a hundred issues with nothing being resolved, Ranma and Akane get married - but not really. And that's it???

The number of anime I've watched that either peter out, or end with no resolution are too many to mention, but the one that disappointed me most was Angelic Layer.

The producers ended up padding the show with a lot of extra characters, battles and story to flesh it out to 20+ episodes - but it doing so they messed up the story line so badly that it didn't end in the same place as the manga! Not only that, they couldn't keep the main character on model - in one episode she'd be bemoaning how petite and short she was, but in the next she'd be just as tall as the other kids. Since her diminutive stature was her defining characteristic, this was terribly disappointing. That and the fact that they completely changed some of the main characters like Hikaru's mother and the suspicious scientist were also inexplicable. After all, the producers of other CLAMP based anime didn't bother to censor out much of what might be considered objectionable material. I loved the manga so much that it really annoyed me that they did such a terrible job on the anime, and the ending, with the boys and girls pairing up in couples that didn't match the manga was the worst.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that second place for anime with a disappointing ending was Cowboy Bebop. Spike is killed (or is he?) and the other characters simply drift apart. What a let down.

Mahou Sensei Negima had a god awful ending. I'm a Ken Akamatsu fan and good god, did the ending suck! It had a lot of bullshit upon bullshit in it. Shit. If they had just let Asuna awake in the future all alone and just end it there, then that would have been that and not as bad. But fuck it sucked.

Oh and I would have to say I also hated the endings of:

METEO SAN SUTORAIKU DESU and SHINMAI FUKEI KIRUKO-SAN.

Vampire Knight......
It was rushed, Melodrama after Melodrama, my fav dies, and I realised why Yuki was a bad character to begin with.
At least the Anime ending was better!

Anime Ed > Manga Ed btw.

I wonder, am I the only one who was irritated with the Death Note ending?

At that point, he was so full of himself he thought whatever plan he came up with would do the job, but obviously he underestimated his opponents and the tact of his allies and paid the price for it. Arrogance kills.

Personally, I want more of the cast to die by the end of it. Also, at the point where it's at currently, I...
