I'm in OK right now, so most people assume I'm super religious and wonder how much I worry about tornadoes.

Of course, when I lived in CA, most people assumed I was a beach bum and wondered when I'd drop off the side of the country due to an earthquake. And when I was in TX, they assumed I wanted to be a cowboy. Ahh, stereotypes..

I'm from Louisiana. People think I am some uneducated, alligator hunting, crayfish-fishing, Cajun boy who marries their first cousin. I am not like this at all.

Well if you count each country of the UK as a "state" then the Welsh people I live around view me as a slave driving colonial master since I am English.

Good old New Jersey, the armpit of the USA!

The funny thing is I actually sort of take pride in that fact we are mentioned so often in pop culture (even if it's as a joke). There is actually a lot to do around here if you are motivated, so many places you can travel to: Atlantic City, a multitude of beaches, New York City, Washington DC, etc.., the list goes on and on, and all are just a drive away. We are nicknamed "The Garden State", the accuracy of that is debatable, and the majority of us do not identify with the Jersey shore...

/wave to Sweden.

I'm from California and people assume I smoke weed and surf everyday , especially since I live really close to the beach. Or I've met a lot of celebrities. Never met anyone famous, I don't smoke and I cant even swim

im from South Carolina, i honestly dont know what people think about it because when i talk i dont have an accent so nobody ever asks me where im from. i dont think theres all that much to assume about it because its not a really special state unless you like history. i happen to live in North Augusta, which if you like golf, im on the SC side of the Savannah River and only about 20 mins away from where the masters are played in Augusta, GA

I live in Utah... most people think it's rather a nice place though full of churchy LDS ppl which in some ways is true, but we have our own crime and not everyone is LDS actually most of my friends aren't and i wasn't for a very long time. (really don't think I am). We do have our stuck up snobs that really need to learn to shove it but we also have our poor people who are actually pretty nice. I think the biggest problem is mainly people think about the LDS when they think of Utah and not about everything else like the national parks here or the very pretty mountains we have. I like it here.

(For those who don't know LDS stands for Latter Day Saints, the full name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, though most people around the world call it Mormon which is wrong but we won't go into that)

I live in NYC. More specifically in the borough of Queens.

No, we do not have a "Brooklyn" accent. No, we are not loaded. No, we don't always dress fly-......well, this may be true. We are not rude, most of the time.

The only thing that is true is that we are the center of the universe. Yup.

I live in TX, but I didn't always. Before I moved here, I thought it was all cowboys and country (and many people I've talked to who've never been think much of the same). It's actually one of the most progressive places I've ever been in. Very culturally diverse, and the business environment is amazing. Not to mention how economically sound it is here because of the oil and gas industry. Oh and one of the best parts? No snow. Thought I'd miss it, but I don't. Not even a little. TX is great (=

I live in North Carolina. Most people think we're a bunch of conservative rednecks who frequently bible-thump and drive Ford F150s with "South Shall Rise Again" bumper stickers and a shotgun rack.

It's actually pretty accurate.

I'm from California, southern california to be exact. I guess peeps would think I live by the beach and go there everyday when really I rarely go at all. They would think we see celebritys all the time walking around the streets.. when not really. But I do think we're famous for crazy stupid drivers.. and traffic
