Pretty much the generalization of Oregon is green party independent retro/hipsters in flannels and birkenstocks drinking starbucks coffee. And no one can pronounce our name right either. It's not Ore-Gone, it's Organ, like your heart muscle or the musical instrument.

SoCal. Best place on earth and I never plan to move away from here. When people hear I'm from California they automatically assume that I know how to surf. Only like a fourth of people down here surf and no I am not one of them

So Cal might not be the best u guys got firestorms, earthquakes, and mudslides

The earthquakes are so small that you can only feel them maybe twice a year and even then its one of those things where you may have missed it its so small. Never had a problem with mudslides, though you do have me on fires, when they start up be prepared for a week of orange skies and ash falling everywhere

i rather live in SoFl an deal with bugs, heat, hurricanes heat doesn't bother me if its bad as Ohio then i rather deal with that then the cold bugs are a minor thing and hurricanes you have a huge warning when they come and move away if all i had to deal with was that and had the money i would gladly move to fl in a heartbeat

I live in South Texas. Everyone online automatically pictures a dumb hick that fucks his sister and rides horses wears cowboy boots and hat.

I don't.

Then again, I'm in Corpus Christi.

But seriously, when I talk to people on the phone and they learn I am from Texas, they freak because I don't have a country accent. When I tell them my surname, they automatically assume I am Mexican when I'm not. Either that or they think I'm an illegal. I also get "You don't look Mexican!" a lot.

I'm from California and my friend who's from Michigan always assumed we Californians know how to swim. Her reaction was quite amusing when I told her that almost no one here can swim.

You live in S.D. and no one knows how to swim? lol
Maybe it depends on the area but everyone I grew up with knows how to swim. I learned when I was 5. When I was a kid everyone had their Birthday parties at the pool. Plus you have to take it in High school.

Anyways, people usually think of Cali like an episode of Laguna Beach or Keeping up with the Kardashians. That we are all a bunch of superficial idiots. Obviously there are a lot of people and areas like that, but not all. They have those "Visit California" commercials that are suppose to parody the misconceptions that people have of this state, but I don't think it helps the cause much. People just think we are a joke of a state, which is sad. I love it here, wouldn't ever want to leave ^___^

Hah, yeah. Must be area wise. I did take swimming lessons during middle school but didn't help at all. Though, I did learn that my head is the only part of my body that will float :)

I live in the Texas Panhandle, which is straight Bible-belt. My town is actually pretty chill though. Its pretty conservative here but everyone is still pretty welcoming as long as you're not "in your face" with whatever agenda your trying to push. And even though the majority of everyone here are Christians, they really don't push religion on anyone.

And yes we do love our guns over here, but at the same time we have a low crime rate because everyone is responsible and not an idiot. We really do use guns for recreational purposes and actual hunting. In fact our biggest problem in the Panhandle is teen pregnancy since there is nothing to do out here haha! But even that is on the decline as of late.

I'm Mexican and the population is pretty much 50/50 Whites/Mexicans. Most Mexicans are Catholics but I don't like religion. I also don't consider myself Republican or Democrat, so I tend to stand out here.

Oh CRAP. I watched the 15 stone babies before and honestly didn't think it happens in real life.. I hope these people don't get aroused by dressing up as babies because that would be beyond disturbing

Everyone thinks we're hipsters and live in Seattle. The hipster part is true, but most people who say they live in Seattle actually live in a surrounding city.
