Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood definitely had one of the best plots, and one of the better endings

I'd respectfully disagree with putting Code Geass in the "best plot" category. I think it had a lot of creative ideas -- albeit heavily influenced by a number of other anime and manga, but that's not uncommon -- and I also think it had very good writing at times, but the plot's job is to link those two things together. And in that respect I think it was the weakest link in the chain; it really doesn't live up to the finesse displayed by many of the other anime mentioned thus far.

Anyway, just my opinion.

Now maybe my conscience will let me sleep. Good night.

Yes! I was so glad they had a remake.

Fate/Zero was big for me because of the historical significance of the story

Just a preface, there's way too many anime with great plots for me to just pick one and write about it. So i'll just go with something i watched recently that I enjoyed.

So Fate/Zero, but the resolution was kind of poor. It's not really Urobutchi's fault though, considering that he had to work work his ending around Fate/Stay Night. I feel like he would have came up with something much better had that not been the case.

Other than that, F/Z is very good. Most of the characters had come to terms with their issues and internal struggles. The nature of the Holy Grail War created interesting encounters between many different characters. The cast is large but varied. The story moved at a steady pace. Fast enough to keep me invested, and but not so fast that I couldn't keep up. Everything is clearly explained and makes sense within the laws of the nasuverse. And I think there was only one filler episode. Good show.

If we're talking about "plot" then it'd be Strike Witches for me.
But if we're being serious, then Higurashi, just because it can lure you in, in less than 5 episodes.
