I hate this. Every app excluding iTunes Movies/TV does this. Take a second or 2 to buffer, please!
Edit: I know for a fact iTunes used to buffer, but it appears they've gone with the pack, sigh.


The new update fixes the most annoying part of the app for me at least: clicking on a show in your queue takes it to the show page, while pressing Play/Pause plays your next episode.


I was talking about when the video just gets uploaded to crunchyroll when the timer hits 0:00. Normally on most apps it is as stated before audio is bad, video quality is bad, etc. you have to wait like 30mins before its viewable.

It's a known FAQ, which they admit to, and in essence, even tell you to expect that it will happen.

When it happens that they get the original raw file barely delivered to them on time...It takes time to encode all the multiple language subs onto all the multiple resolution files for all the multiple different devices which use different video formats, and and transfer all of them to all the multiple CDNs It's because they get the shows from many different producers in Japan who aren't all consistent with each other. Most of the time it is resolved in about half an hour, but sometimes it does take longer. I've noticed that when it is for a really popular show that tends to make it worse. You see the lower resolution files first, because they are smaller, so they finish first, and the CDN will try to deliver something to you when it exists.

My bad, misread your post. Yeah, the video can be bad when it first comes out on all mobile/connected devices, but I've been watching simulcasts here for 3 years on my Apple TV and it is a LOT better than it used to be in my experience. Now, most of the videos that I watch as soon as they come out are available right away. Though, the one I want to watch the most, of course, takes awhile.

The issue I was referring to is when a video starts the first 2 or seconds are pixelated and the sound gargled. Really bad when your favorite OP is on an episode that does not have a cold opening.

I've noticed that issue on other services that determine the bit rate automatically. It was especially noticeable in recent weeks when I was watching episodes via Funimation's Windows 10 app. Thank goodness for studio and Funimation logos at the beginning.

Something good did come out of this update. Crunchyroll is built to connect with the new version of tvOS. From the TV App, to Siri and Search. It is also one of only 11 apps to appear in the "Start Watching Now" part of the TV Store, which will be good to help find new users.

The App doesn't even load for me!

I pay a premium membership and I can't even watch anything! I would love you to fix the Apple TV app, or give me my money back..

The app isn't working and I'm a premium member as well. I would REALLY appreciate this being fixed. Especially seeing as it seems like people from 4 months ago are complaining about the same thing as I am.

Mine keeps telling me I already have a subscription when I try to watch shows, I login with my iTunes account and it says that I already have an account and to go to settings in the app but that does help i know i have a subscription and it won't let me play anything, it was working normally and then one day it stopped.
