Sony did forecast vita selling 5m this year worldwide... if that isn't an indicator they are loosing faith in their own system I don't know what is.

Honestly, hand held systems have been dead to me for a while. When I'm on the go, the last thing on my mind is gaming these days. I used to be into them, just not anymore I guess.

I think a lot of people are the same way actually, kinda like it was a fad for a while but now its for the enthusiasts. I just can't get the same experience unless its on the computer or a real console and I'm relaxed and enjoying it.

Dead? no
On life support? yes

The Vita needs to drop in price and get some more must have exclusives on the system that aren't PS2 ports or cross buys with the PS3.

Hell, I don't have a Vita but I have all but 1 game that I want for the Vita through PS+, that being Persona 4 golden. If Sony doesn't put some more money into getting those Vita only exclusives, it's in real trouble.

Even at E3, they announced what, 3 more exclusives? They they showed nothing about. They were only pushing it as a second screen device for the PS4 which isn't going to move a $250 handheld. It would be like Nintnedo selling a Wii U gamepad for $250

They don't even need to slash the price of the actual system really, they just need to cut the price of the memory cards, that's the biggest turn off.

Since the system is so digital heavy, especially for PS+ member you need the bigger memory cards, and those things are NOT cheap.

Here's the thing: the Vita is an amazing gaming system. I love it for its raw power, and its large selection of JRPGs and Indies. It's a wonderful gaming device.

Two things are holding it back. The initial cost (most customers don't want to break $150 for a portable device, regardless of how awesome it is) and its proprietary memory. Asking someone to pay $100 for a 32GB card is ludicrous. Also, while I'm happy with the games currently out, I think they need to pump out more of them, faster.

That being said, the Vita promises to have massive PS4 integration, and if Sony can find a way to drop the price a bit or work it into some bundles, I think it'll do fine

I have a Vita and a 3DS.
The Vita is a more impressive devise and I love it but it doesn't have that many games.
The 3DS comes out with one or two amazing games every month.
I barley touch it because I'm busy with my 3DS most of the time.
Sony needs to step up to mach great games with their great hand held.

I want to buy it only for Persona 4 golden but I don't know if can completely justify buying a handheld just for one game albeit a fantastic game. If only there were more interesting exclusives.

I must say the 3DS has loot more games i hope PS4 can help sell the vita so they can make more games for it.

I don't have one yet but i believe its not dead. The ps4 is around the corner so thats where sony's efforts are going. Plus, i bet once the ps4 is out there will be a bunch of vita integration of stuff.

About the fad thing - I think it was too when I was younger. When I would play on hand helds I'd always be in the house... I never once played games on them outside as an adult. If I am doing absolutely nothing at home I'd rather play games on my computer, so...

Still a few note games keeps me optimistic, but I'd want to see more support.

I think the the Vita's lineup of games is fine. The problems are the bad marketing and expensive memory cards. Honestly, I haven't been able to put the thing down. I've put over a hundred hours each, into Project Diva and Persona 4 Golden. I haven't been able to get into Soul Sacrifice because of those two games.

I haven't really played on my 3DS since I finished Fire Emblem, but I can't wait for SMT IV.

I love mine. And since Sony is making it a vital part (pun intended) of the P4, I think it will eventually pick up in sales. In the meantime, it is a shame we aren't getting more new games for the system.
