I've always think she was a cool chick until she hit her fan on purpose because her fan held her hand for 5 seconds long.

And it turns my stomach when people online are actually defending her by saying that she was being honest and "did the right thing". I don't think it's funny at all, especially when she has been the victim of violence and knows how much it hurts to be abused by someone she loves so dearly. She had 2 body guards stood right next to her and they were there to eliminate threats (which I'm sure that fan wasn't even a threat, probably just too excited to see her/his idol).

This angers me so much when things like this became okay just because someone famous is doing it. Or just because she's a woman!

She was doing what she felt was defending herself, the security should have separated it but he didn't for whatever reason. also you can tell at that moment the fan started pulling her, that's a relatively scary situation. Having done concert security before, that guard should be fired as he wasn't even attempting to do anything.
Either way, she tried to pull away, and the fan pulled her closer. Do I think it was "right"? Not necessarily, but I think she did what she needed to do. Even celebs have personal space.

Also I'll note that I'm completely against violence and abuse of all forms, but self defense is a sketchy line, she may have felt in fear of her safety once the fan pulled her. Who can say?

Yes, it was OK. It was necessary, she has to move to the part of her song.

And that person was clutching on to her like some sort of leech.

If someone in public was holding on to you for no reasons and won't let you go, would you not hit him/her to get away? It's common sense.

The only reason why this was such a big deal is because Rihanna is female, and society/media expects females to be this kind/gentle nurturing humans. If it was a male popstar doing this, it wouldn't be such a big deal.

I mean, didn't Justin bieber ran over a paparazzi the other day with his car? Yet nobody's making a thread about that.

The fan wanted her attention, and she promptly gave it to him/her. I don't see a problem with her trying to get away from a fan that obviously thinks they are more worthy of her attention than anyone else there.

I think rihanna was in the wrong here, thats the securitys job not hers, and idk. i don't think that it was right it just sets a bad example. it really gave her a bad image in my eyes. being clubbed with the microphone like that could really hurt.. she could have made a better decision

She's a diva anyway, most famous people are so far up their own arses they think the world revolves around them.

You honestly think she's a good person? She makes loads of money and doesn't give a single fuck about any of her fans, infact I bet she finds them annoying and pathetic.

I always hear negative stuff about people like her in the news. If you like their material then fine, but you don't have to like them as a human being, and she wouldn't do a damn thing for any of her fans.
