Android because you have more access to the inner software of the phone and you can do more. Plus its less buggy than iOS. Only good thing about iOS is that it has more apps, and thats because its more popular.

iOS is user friendly. I prefer Android but with the amount of money iv'e spent with apple on computers or on music and apps, it would be pointless if I switched unfortunately.

Which is exactly why I pick android. While they're both walled gardens, android is a hell of a lot more free and open than iOS. Refuse to use any Apple software because of that, I prefer to keep my media as platform neutral as possible.

Android is the true definition of freedom. Android master-race.

ios

They're neater and more organized.

As much as I like customization, it's just messy to look at afterwards.

I only like android because it's easy to shove a micro SD card into and throw some anime and music on it without having to use itunes and syncing. But as for everything else, iOS all the way! No thought at all need to decide.

android, emulators are allowed in the play store. As are apps like manga rock and such. Google is not a copyright nazi.

That is seriously the one and only reason I would never consider an apple device, tough that is mostly because a (retro) game handheld with no emulators is not very usefull...

Android in 2016 Back then, iOS since Android lags quite a bit and just wasn't as optimized. Well, Android still isn't as optimized as iOS but it's come a long way. Also, android gives you options for different needs and also has useful things like emulators and torrents. That way you won't have to connect to a computer and use iTunes with some things. I still think iOS is great though, despite it being a bit too expensive for my taste! The gap between the app store and play store are narrowing. So Android all the way!

P.S. I think Windows is great since it offers cross platform between the desktop and mobile OS, but it is severely lacking in apps, even now.

now if only the carriers didn't insist on pushing bloatware to android users..remember DT Ignite?
it's a software that allows carriers to push more bloatware whenever they please (and guess who'll pay for the data used when they download crap on your phone? hint: not them). it's impossible to remove by conventional means, since it's a system software.
you'd need to root the device to even remove it,

iphone users don't have this problem as far as i know (since it's a closed system, the carriers can't just push an over the air update however they please)

when it comes to apps, for most users either android or iOS is fine, though iOS seems better for Japanese learners.
(Midori app still the best Japanese dictionary app out there)
iOS users can also use emulators and torrents with jailbreak, though they need to use the dreaded itunes. even with jailbreak, you'll still need it to transfer files (3rd party programs rely on itunes to operate)

edit: manga apps are also available, though i 'd rather read it through "other" means :p
