Did we claim anywhere that it would be in HD?
If yes, please point it out to me.

I know it didn't say it, just seems strange that there is an ouya app in HD which is running android while the actual android app gets yet another version using the horrible low res encodes that aren't even released when they air for premium users. Side loading flash and watching through the browser is now completely dead as of android 4.4. It's frustrating for customers that the most obscure platforms imaginable get priority development while popular android and iOS tablet platforms get nothing.

Apologies for the frustration. It's coming.

OUYA makes a nice test platform for Android because it is single hardware configuration and has a small user base. If something is going to blow up once it goes live, it makes isolating the problem(s) easier if hardware differences can be ruled out, and the small user base means not many people get ticked off.

tl;dr version: OUYA users are doing the beta testing for the Android app.
