I think One Piece is fine with it's large number of episodes. One Piece goes into detail about a lot of things, so each episode feels fulfilling but at the same time it is also only a very small chunk of the arc. I think One Piece is written well enough to not annoy you despite being so long.

As for series I wish would come to an end, I'd have to say Detective Conan. 99% of that show is fillers, how is it even possible that so many intricate murders can take place in Japan. If Detective Conan was true, then Japan would probably have the highest number of serial killers on the planet. Seriously though, I am sick of plot progression once every hundred episodes just for some random unimportant mystery to be solved every week.

I'd also like to say Pokemon, but Pokemon is not really supposed to have a storyline. It's supposed to make kids want to buy Pokemon stuff, so as long as kids want Pokemon stuff, Pokemon is fulfilling it's duty.

I feel like Bleach is probably too long as well. Naruto seems like each of it's non-filler arcs build toward the next non-filler arc. Bleach to me seems like the guy just trying to come up with ideas to keep the series running. It feels like a completely different series than when it started.

Most other animes I think are either too short or just fine.

As of late, I refuse to intentionally watch any anime that exceeds 50 episodes with FMA: Brotherhood being the exception. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Doesn't pokemon have over 1000 episodes and counting?

It's getting close, I believe it's somewhere in the 700's last time I checked.

I don't mind long running series, but it can be a real pain to catch up in if you find it pretty late. Some of my friends want me to get into One Piece, the problem is that trying to catch up on 600 episodes would take way too long, so I'm skipping because of that.

Personally, I don't have an upper episode limit for anime. I also don't believe that every anime with too many episodes has to have a high number of episodes in the first place - for example, Hunter x Hunter is currently at 85 episodes and is paced very nicely, and I couldn't imagine the 50-episode Erin being any shorter. Maid-sama!, on the other hand, only had 26 episodes, but I feel like it could have managed with half that and been a better paced series.

Plenty, the "Big 3", Gintama, Detective Conan, Pokemon. They've all probably been named already. I prefer 13 episode series.

I honestly don't care how many episodes an anime have, always as it has a good story and characters, funny moments or some kind of redeeming quality I will watch it, even if it has too many episodes or too little and i don't like, well it's not like i'm being forced to watch it so i don't complain

When an anime has too many episodes, these butthurt otakus complain.

The anime industry just can't win.

I don't see how this is true at all, in any sense of the observation. Firstly based on the fact that I rarely (if ever) see someone complain about an anime being too short, and very much often hear about anime being too long. I'm quite sure it's a one sided issue with rare exceptions for anime that have ever been considered "too short" (which I can't think of any where that was the complaint. At all. Unless people simply wanted more because they liked it).

Don't confuse preference with being butthurt. I wouldn't say it's unnatural to not be partial to an anime with over a hundred episodes for a variety of logical reasons.

Though I understand you fanboi over OP so it's only natural you'd have something like this to say.

You used the wrong form of "to", it's supposed to be "too".

And no, I haven't.

Huh?

Yeah、okay...you win... (ーー;)

Do you really take the time to unnaturally align your text and post an image bearing your thoughts in every single post? Perplexing.

More effort. Though I guess I respect that.

I think anime can have to many episodes if there is not any character and/or relationship development (the same goes for books, movies, and regular TV shows). There's nothing I hate more than when a show gets repetitive. As one person said, when all the show involves is fighting the new boss every week/story arc, I end up dropping it out of boredom.
