I can't watch long anime anymore, the only one I'd watch would be bleach if it ever restarts.

Most longer shows are really bad because they're dragged out so long anyway. 12 - 26 is fine. I guess 50s are okay. Kind of like Death Note. i think that show was 46. I don't know.

I haven't seen too many over 26. I guess it depends on what series I am watching.

I think Sword Art Online should have been split in two with the AlfHeim Online arc getting it's own season.

I stopped watching Naruto and Bleach because its too long. I just don't like watching anime that has over 100 episodes it's too long then I tend to loose interest in it. 2 or 3 seasons are enough for me.

I would have to say that I also think when an anime passes the 150 mark I usually have to drop it. By that time most anime that have been running that long are starting to rinse and repeat they same thing every arc.

Anime like FMA Brotherhood are a perfect length to me because they are long enough to leave the audience satisfied, and for the most part should be able to actually finish the plot.

Shorter animes to me are hit and miss. Some of them I'm happy with, and some I'm not. Just depends on what it is though.

Long anime can be off putting but then if it's something awesome, then there's so many awesome eps.

The off putting thing for most are the filler eps. I respect why they are there, hell half the time they expand the story perfectly with the flow of time. Yet when you have bad eps for filler along with a long story that doesn't really show a major plot arc like one piece, then it becomes a nightmare. One piece is something I started enjoying but there never seemed to be a central plot or even hidden tie ins as it went along. I might get back into it, but with so many slow arcs with filler ontop, it doesn't make it appear worthwhile.

I think it comes down to how well done the story is, cos it's that will ultimately decide whether the whole of it is worthwhile, the actual arcs or to pass.

I think 50 episodes is all most shows need to tell a story. I certainly cant see the need for more than 100 and over 200 is just ridiculous. In my experience most shows that take over a hundred episodes do so by really dragging out events and adding unnecessary filler.

I think the enjoyment you get out of a long series REALLY depends on when you got into it. Like, I can completely see the appeal of having a show that you follow every week for years and years - the connection to the characters and world that gives you seem to be a really special thing, and I kinda wish I had a show like that. However, once a really long show is several hundred episodes into it's run, getting into it gets very intimidating, and at least in my case, I don't bother if I'm more than 50 episodes behind on something that's still ongoing, because I know I will never have the time to catch up. That's why when I finally decided to get into One Piece this winter, I borrowed the manga off a friend - it's an amazing story, but I am NEVER going to have the time to watch it all in anime form.

I'm like 300 episodes behind in One Piece... I love the anime so much, but I just can't catch up to it and follow it. I think anything more than 100 episodes is really just too long unless you've been following it since near beginning.

I hate it when good shows are really short. With shows like Gintama, I wish that it would go on forever. If you don't have the time for that, then it's simple.. just don't watch it.

I actually love Anime with a lot of episodes. I really hate short great anime's which forces you to read the rest of the story in the manga.
That's why I love Naruto. Maybe it's because I am a fan, but I actually enjoy watching every episode (including the fillers).
Same goes with Bleach, One Piece and Fairy Tail.

long animes aren't too bad, but after a while it does seem like they're just trying to drag it on and on, trying to milk more money out of the consumers. its the same way with a few book series ive read -cough cough pretty little liars-

Anime with too many episodes aren't bad like one piece has around 600 episodes but it is really exciting and fun to watch, short animes makes me want to watch more of it and the manga goes on so I prefer animes with lots of episodes
