It is always been in the back of my head:

a guy fathering children with multiple women is "ok"

but the reverse is a SIN beyond sins...

anyways the manga left a bad after taste.

EDIT: before another series of diehards are misinterpreting this post. This post is meant as a question not statement.

Well not a fan girl but I am a Zero fan, so why sorry? He got to live 1,0000 (at least) years with the girl he loved and have a kid or arguably two (cause I'm trying to be neutral on the kid debate) sounds like a good thing to me.

As far as the ending itself goes its as neutral of an ending as you can manage, the story ultimately broke around 89 and Hino essentially tried to piece it back together with an ending that tried to appease everyone (though from what I've seen mostly did the opposite ) But at least everyone got a relatively happy ending: Zero got to be with who he loved; Yuki got to be with one of the ones she loved and got to give a second life to the other one she loved; and Kaname got a second life in the light.

Well.. I guess it can be seen as happy ending I was just surprised it turned out like because of the things Kaname was doing made me hate him more then yuki abandoning Zero just was an automatic dislike of her new persona of Yuki Kuran

I will agree that it was a rushed ending, executive meddling at its finest -.-, that really could've been ironed out. It was far 'happier' than what I was thinking could happen (Hino giving all the fans a good troll by having everyone killed off and ending it on that note). I could actually stand not hating Kaname (though not to imply I was turned into his fan or anything just that he wasn't so bad) in the ending, far better than practically the entire post-time skip version of him anyway. I dunno after a few months of reading through comments and talking to friends about it I'm okay with ending as it is though I would've loved to see more of the thousand years I've just decided to take it as it is and move on to other manga (and to avoid LT's as much as possible xD)

The ending was horrible. Hino Matsuri ultimately took the threesome route and destroyed both Zero and Yuki's characters. To the freaking end, after getting pregnant by both guys and being with Zero for how many centuries, Yuki still couldn't choose a guy! Zero also look pathetic begging Yuki like that and to his death he was nothing but a piece in Kaname's game. Even ended up having to raise Kaname's daughter!

The only one who came out on top is Kaname. Sacrificed himself as a martyr, no repercussions from manipulating Zero and being the cause of his parents' deaths, no repercussions from killing countless Purebloods, still respected and loved by those he betrayed for them to dedicate 1000 years to researching a cure for him, gets to take the Yuki virginity and knock her up too, ensures Zero protects Yuki by marrying her(?) and raise his child as their own, gets turned into a human to experience blissful happiness while still attaining the love of Yuki who Zero had devoted his life to.

Yep, the only winner is Kaname.

Don't start that BS. When was it ever considered "ok" for a guy to father children from multiple women? It makes the guy look just as trashy as the woman. The only difference is that the woman is seen as worst because she's the one being penetrated and collecting the semen. For lack of better term.

That's exactly how I felt! I was like why should Kaname win! I felt he manipulated everyone throughout the series. Everybody was a pawn in his game! Then Yuki not being able to decide or admitting who she truly wanted to be was a real let down with that Yuki had children with both men.I felt the author couldn't chose between Zero or Kaname

The ending sucked ass. I felt nothing but pity for Zero, it was like his only role in the story was to be used as a doormat, frankly he should have just continued his goal of killing all the purebloods.

I think Zero stayed with Yuki because he made a promise to Ichiru "To live and fulfill my goal." So he was tired of being scared and hiding his true feelings for Yuki. So in short Zero followed his brother's dying wish

But she did not reciprocate those feelings, in the end it was like she stayed with him out of some kind of obligation while longing for Kaname

Yeah that's what struck me as odd she didn't proclaim who she truly wanted to be with and your probably right she probably stayed with Zero because Kaname told them he wanted them to be together.

To start let me say that I quoted only 1 cause it has both I wanted to respond to (all in one nice little quote instead of 2, I'm a slacker *shrugs*)

Think of it this way: Yuki had the choice to leave Zero at any point during the thousand years however she stayed and even had his kid (maybe two depending on what side of the debate you fall on) so obviously she did love him and want to be with him. Even Kaname himself said that he realized she loved Zero and that Zero loved her but that both were basically just in denial. At least Kaname did admit to having done things that shouldn't be forgiven, which some fans of his have yet to accept, and really most likely the Kaname that lived in the end may not technically be the same Kaname if he lost his memories. It shouldn't really surprise anyone that Yuki was unable/unwilling to choose cause throughout the entire manga she was that way and is one of the reasons I grew to dislike her. My main desire for the ending was whether Zero was happy or not, to me he was because he got to be with the girl he loved, and yes that reciprocated his feelings. imo Hino really tried to make a decent end out of a mess of a story after she broke the author's rule of letting the story right itself. She got her troll/shark jump/a**pull in (chapter 89) then had to try and find a way to pull things back together in a sensible way. I'd have preferred the story have followed the path it was on in 88 during the dance.

The thing that annoys me about the ending is that it focused on the LT trio and had little detail on the others. Did Rima and Shiki finally get together (it was hinted that they would but never showed if they did)? Did Kain and Ruka get together or even move in that direction? <------these are my issues instead of anything to do with the others as I think Zero got his happiness.
