It's too bad Yuki couldn't have had them both in a male harem. Why do only male MC's get to have their cake and eat it too?

Just finished reading... And somehow feel happy and sad same time.
Poor my Zero is death, but i believe he lived happy in the end. And his son!! such a cutie. Reminds me young Ichiru.
It's weird to think that Yuki had given birth to both Kaname and Zero's children.. But nahh ,maybe this way it was better.
Because now Kaname is human,so he can't produce pureblood child anymore. at least now he has daughter

And so many years of my life passed with this manga. Just realising it,i feel so old

I read this and tried to work out the family tree. Kaname to Yuki is her brother and also her grandfather (great-grandfather? - at least a figure in that direction). At least that's how I think it went (he was in a coffin in Yuki's basement as the father/grandfather/whatever of Yuki's parents). That really, really, really put me off the manga, it's as if casual incest is okay if you're a vampire and can't suffer from the genetic mistakes you get if you're human). After that (well, the brother and sister thing was a huh?! kinda thing too) I really wanted to stop reading but I read it to the end simply because it would have bugged me otherwise.

All the girls wanting Kaname and Yuki ending, would you really want an ending where you ended up with your grandfather? So why want to lumber it on her, I say Zero should have put a stake into both of them and gone off and become a monk or something, perfect ending

It was disappointing how Yuki's abilities and prowess as the youngest PUREBLOOD vampire didn't manifest in the last chapters of the story. I was expecting that some, if not most, of the resolutions for the conflicts there were will come from her, but no, the most she did was turn Kaname into a human. I didn't find this act touching or moving at all too. I get that she wanted Kaname to experience a normal human life (without all the bloody responsibilities and downsides of being a vampire) but was that what Kaname wanted too? I honestly think it's more painful for him if he regains his vampire-consciousness without Yuki at his side (but I guess Yuki didn't think much about that because she turned him into a human anyway). And what happened to Zero? Did Zero really end up being a puppet of the Kurans? Was he a mere companion to Yuki the whole time they were waiting for Yuki to kill herself? I hope not. Zero deserved better. :(

But this is just my opinion. I have nothing against those who loved the ending. Also, I've still so much love and respect for the creator.

In my opinion, the whole story started out good then it just started to get boring :/
I don't know why but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I did when it started D:
When Yuuki awakened as a pureblood I started to lose interest.. & the ending to me was just seriously crappy. Totally unsatisfying & annoying in my eyes. Not saying I could do better but, ugh!

After I remembered my friend's telling me VK finally ended, I went and read the WHOLE series in one go. And I have to admit, the ending for me was indeed disappointing. I mean the story was okay... but I feel like the mangaka just decided to end the whole series in the last arc. And to not disappoint both Zero and Kaname fans, I guess she just decided Yuki can have both of them.

I know some people might've liked the ending cuz it was different, but I am not one of those people lol. I am unsatisfied after reading 90+ chapters. I mean I read another manga the other day that was only 9 chapters and it was awesome!!

I think the author likes kaname and yuuki being together but some people have been debating about their relationship bcuz they were siblings that's why yuuki can have zero and kaname so that there's no more issue....ekkk I don't like the ending kaname become human... I don't think I'm going to read the manga... gawsh this manga reminds me of "chibi vampire "

Kaname drops his heart into the furnace. When Yuki sees this, she jumps towards Kaname to try and feel his pulse; but Kaname tells her that his heart is melting inside. Yuki tries to remove his heart from the flames of the furnace. Kaname hugs and stops her, saying that his core of life has shifted to within the furnace itself. Zero, who chased after Yuki, stands in shock at what Kaname had done. Yuki blames herself for all that has happened, wishing that she wasn't born and blaming herself for making Kaname how he is. But Kaname tells her that it was her who gave him feelings to protect someone, that she was a ray of light which showed him the way. He then talks about his choices, and about how he doesn't regret them, but also that he should atone for his sins. Yuki cries, thinking about how she can't imagine a world where she can't hear his voice; but Kaname says that he has recieved enough happiness from her, and that she shouldn't have to regret. While watching this scene, Zero ponders whether or not he should be thanking Kaname due to Bloody Rose almost dying, but he then tells Kaname that he would not forgive him for the grief and sorrow caused to Yuki. Kaname accepts Zero's thoughts, then brings Zero and Yuki together in a warm embrace, saying that he has seen them shine so radiantly and that he has come to understand that they both should be together. With this understanding coming to light, Kaname shuts his eyes for the last time and passes, leaving Yuki in tears. Afterwards, Yuki runs back to the Academy, fighting to protect it. Aido locks Kaname's body into an ice coffin as to preserve and protect him from danger. Later on, Zero confesses to Yuki to stay with him, saying that he won't run away anymore. A long amount of time passes, and Aido finds a book written by Kaname, containing an incomplete method of turning vampires back into humans. Later, even after months and years, the Academy is still accepting vampire students to study in the Night Class. Sayori, has became old, tells her stories to her grandchildren about her best friend, Yuki. The era changes and another thousand years have passed. Yuki is seen near Zero's grave, clutching the now broken Bloody Rose and is planning on bringing it to Zero's parent's home. She then reflects on the past, saying how even though they quarreled many times, he still gave her happiness. Yuki is then seen with her two kids one could be the daughter of Zero or Kaname  and other as the son of Zero. Yuki revives Kaname by offering her own life and turning him into human, and passes as her mother did before when she turned Yuki into a human. Kaname wakes up as a human and sees the beautiful shining ray of light, and the children give him the message left by their mother to their other father. "I want to give to you, my beloved, the world that I saw when I was a human." The chapter ends with Kaname, now a human, no memories holding a butterfly on his finger, admiring the newfound light.

SAD ENDING. .. I didn't want any of them to die and kaname is probably going to be a dead meat soon since he become a human.... and i think his going to protect those two children with his very last breath oh mah gawsh kaname daughter and zero son is going to end up together .... kaname daughter probably going to turn him into a half vampire

Honestly I can say that the ending was a letdown, but for me it was becoming a letdown by book 8, since after Yuuki became a vampire I felt that it kind of went downhill from that point. To me Yuuki became a less likable character with some of her actions although I'll admit her becoming a vampire was probably a needed part due to her relationship with Zero.

Yuuki just seemed to be going back and forth between Kaname and Zero which to me tends to work with love triangles but for this she sort of ended up with both (to my personal opinion made her come across as a ho >.>). Like near the ending it's like she realizes her true feelings for Zero and kisses him in her little "fantasy" but when Kaname comes along she just says "nope Zero" and erases his memories then screws Kaname lol, I just kind of lost all respect for Yuki as a person.

I support Zero since he was such a deep character in my eyes but near the end he sort of went through a personality change after that whole memory loss and it made me go "what." Like Yuuki ends up with Zero after Kaname "dies" but it's like she only got together with Zero after Kaname literally TOLD her to, it's like it wasn't based off of her true feelings at all. And then after Zero dies much later, Yuuki brings Kaname BACK to life as if he deserves it for being such a manipulative asshole.

Gah seriously. I feel like like Sara had done, Kaname was just controlling everyone's minds lol.

Here's how I think it shouldve ended: after the masquerade ball Yuki realizes her true feelings for Zero and then when Kaname comes back to kill Sara Yuki strikes him down with the Artemis after realizing how much of a bastard he is. Then Zero and Yuki live on together~ yay :D

Or another thought (something a bit more tragic), during the time when Yuki runs off with Kaname, Zero feels that he can no longer be saved without Yuki (his savior) and takes his own life. Then after Yuki finds out she is conflicted by mixed emotions and confesses to Kaname that she can't be with him and he forces her to kill him XD then Yuki joins up with the vampire hunters on a mission to completely bring peace to vampire and humans~ Basically Yuki killing Kaname would be a great ending >.> Imo
