Lol, I think he even said the dude came back to work the following day, and I thought, "Well that's a great way to kill all your hours. "

12 hours would be too much for a student, I remember working a 12 hour shift once as a dishwasher and not being able to concentrate the day after on my school studies. Don't do it as a student unless you are down to your ends meat or an english major... kidding

12 and 24's are the only real options I have in terms of shifts were I work, lmao. But it does take some getting used to... Especially when you're constantly running off 3hrs of sleep 5 days a week.

For about a month last summer I worked 12 hour shifts (6am-6pm) 7 days a week on the docks unloading fishing boats. A lot of the work was pretty physically demanding, and spending an hour+ in a sub-freezing hold, bent over throwing 30+ pound tuna wasn't much fun. But I slept like a rock every night, and 40hrs regular plus 40 hrs overtime every week was nice.

Back in 1978-1979 I worked for Universal Studioes Security, and some of those Twelve hour shifts were MURDER.

But some of them were alright, for instance I was locked in stage 29, which I think was the Bridge, corridors, Viper Pilot's Ready Room and Sleeping Quarters, of the TOS Battlestar Galactica. That was a fun 12 hours.

The ones that were not fun were the ones at night on the backlot, where you practically froze to death. or got rained on, unless you could use the prop to hide from the rain, like a WWII Transport Plane.

I'm in the military so I stand 12 hours of watch a day, + normal daily routine stuff and maintenance to be done. Usually get 2-3 hours of sleep at a time, twice a day for 7 days a week. Sunday is my, "I get 7 hours of straight sleep" day.
