character: Durzo Blint

Series: The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks

Explanation/feats: Was not only a magical assassin with so many kills he lost count, he was also a 700 year old warrior that could change his face at will. He was over half of the great heroes in the series's history.

the novel is basically a children's/pre-teen's book, or atleast to me, but even a teenager or adult can enjoy it.
Neil Gaiman has several good books that satisfy, so if you become a fan of his novels you will be busy for a while.

Sucks, I complain about how much DJs go to Washington and dont go to Oregon, but I assume the Midwest seems to barely get any DJs.

I also drew a little chibi of Skrillex

nice, I saw Escape the Fate, Attack Attack, MEst, and several Oregon/Local rock bands. Seen a few local Rock/Rap groups in Portland Oregon.
Been to some anime Conventions with J-Core, happy hardcore, hardcore producers.
I unfortunately did not see some of my favorite rock bands while they were in Oregon due to Work and School (back when I barely started working full time and full time school), but now I tend to deal with the cons of raving, rocking, working and school all in one day.

Does it still count if the books were adapted into manga?

Character: Kurda Smahlt
Series: Cirque du Freak/ The Saga of Darren Shan by Darren Shan
Reason: I think his actions and his friendship with Darren are some of the most compelling things about the series.

Character: Professor Lyall
Series: Soulless/ The Parasol Protectorate by Gail Carriger (yes, this was also adapted into manga. I can't help that people have good taste in deciding what to make a manga of! Also omg the art is gorgeous, though.)
Reason: I like that at first he's so quiet and appears to be just subservient to Lord Maccon, but then you find out more about him and in what ways he's involved in various things... ah, I don't want to spoil, but book 4. Book 4! Also I like what happens with him in book 5. ^_~ <3

Finnick Odair from Catching Fire and Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins.
I think it's hilarious when he first meets Katniss, and he's one of the youngest victors of the Hunget Games. That's pretty cool, and creepy in a way.

character: Kat

Series: Wizard Girl (second in Wizard's trilogy)

Explanation/feats: She is brave and adventurous, going to this other dimension that her father had when when he was just a boy. While in that other dimension she makes friends with a princess, reunites her with her mother (if I'm remembering this correctly), and goes after her evil step-father by using a mechanical dragon that is controlled by embedding jewels in her eyes.
