Japanese Traditions Learnt Through Anime
Posted 11/17/06
What are the Traditions that you learnt or notice through Anime ?

I've learnt through anime that a school education is important for most average families.

That they are very strict about their Traditions and respect is also important.

Their sense of style is very creative and probably a few other things but right now I'm freakin brain dead.

So, you're turn.X3

Cultural Festivals look like fun. Like when I was in italian class and we had a cafe in the library where you could get gelati and different coffees, except all over the school and with different themes. I miss that.

How Japanese spent their New Year's, the first dream of the new year, some of the delicacies there, and that writing a wish on a piece of paper and placing it on a bamboo plant. That's all I know for now

1)i never knew of the holiday 'golden week'

2)never realized most high school's engage in a 'culture festival'

3) never realized fully how hard work is promoted in japan what with their 12 hour work days

4) never knew even in corporate japan, emphasis is on the group raher than the individual which is an opposite concept compared to north american capitalist business

i like the high regard for respect, (esp. elders), education and patience. also their history is very important to them.
