LOL ATTACK ON TITAN EVERYWHERE

Please try and not use attack on titan since it is running into the summer 2013 anime season. Only anime that end during the spring 2013 anime season are eligible for voting

It's okay for OPs and EDs, right? You often have a different OP and ED for a show in different seasons, so I think that an OP or ED should be eligible if it debuted in spring 2013.

Yeah its okay to use any OP or ED as long as it debuted in Spring 2013

Best Story - Suisei no Gargantia
A very interesting storyline. I like it.

Best Animation - Shingeki no Kyojin
The artstyle isn't "moe"- it's nice, clean and pretty to look at. At times, the animation can be super duper sexy.

Best OP - Attack on Titan OP
So addicting, it's ridiculous.

Best ED - Karneval- "Be my Reason"
So addicting as well and has a upbeat tune to it, very catchy.

Best Comedy - My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu
It was hard to pick this between Henneko and Oreimo, but this one has made me laugh the most because it's the most relate-able.

Best Character - Hachiman Hikigaya from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
Hachiman is just awesome, and no one can deny this. What he says is true; he's honest, and he doesn't give a fuck.

Best of Spring 2013 - Attack on Titan
I'm not a worshipper of the anime- it's definitely not my favorite this year. But I think it's been the most well executed one, and it deserves this title for various reasons; it's animation and it's excitement levels.

Valvrave the Liberator is also only half-over.

Although I think it'd still be alright to let these complete for best animation as well, since that's not something that's likely to change over time. The other categories are definitely impractical for an unfinished series, though.

Edit: Except maybe "Best of Spring 2013" since that can be evaluated at a more or less episodic basis.

But anyway, that'd be reasonable from either perspective.

Best Story - Valvrave. The story was easy to understand, but still fascinating.

Best Animation - Gargantia. Really amazing and beautiful.

Best OP - Sister's Noise (A Certain Scientific Railgun S). No one can compete with fripSide.

Best ED - A tie between all of the Date A Live ED's.

Best Comedy - My Romantic Teen Comedy. This one was just funny.

Best Character - Tsukiko Tsukakukshi. She is so ADORABLE!!!!

Best of Spring 2013 - Red Data Girl. While lacking in the comedy department, this had an amazing story (though an ending kiss between Miyuki and Izumiko would have been nice), great animation, a catchy OP (Annabel is amazing), and awesome characters.

Best Story: Gargantia
Best Animation: Uta no Prince Sama
Best OP Song: Gargantia
Best ED Song: Flowers of Evil
Best Comedy: Hayate The Combat Butler: Cuties
Best Character: Nakamura from Flowers of Evil
Best of Spring 2013: Flowers of Evil

Comments: Gargantia and Flowers of Evil are two best highlights of Spring Season Anime this year for me. When I watch Gargantia, I really feel like I'm in a different world, I love the unique society in the anime and the environmental scenery.

Flowers of Evil is the best for me this season though, its story might not be as impressive as Gargantia, but FoE really digs deep into the psychology of humans and humans interaction, and the feeling of fear of being shunned by society for being who you are.

FoE have three characters on different area of the spectrum; Saeki who is the perfect schoolgirl, Kasuga the one in between good and evil, and Nakamura (the supposed evil schoolgirl that every teacher and student hates).

I really loved the contrasts of characters in FoE, therefore it is the best anime for me this Spring 2013.

Best Story: Henneko - The Hentia Prince and the Stony Cat
This was a hard award to give, but I enjoyed the twist and turns in the story from episode to episode. And while I haven't seen the last episode yet, it looks like what started out as a funny light harem comedy is going to have a very touchy, bittersweet ending to the story.

Runner up: Red Data Girl
Good, serious story that builds with each episode.

Best Animation: Flowers of Evil
This is the only anime I watched at all this season where the animation style grabbed my attention. It's dark, gritty, and highly detailed. The rotoscoping effect used on the characters adds to the atmosphere of the show. This is the one anime where I would say the animation enhances the show.

Best OP Song: Muromi-san
Quirky and sticks in your head. Almost as quirky as the show itself.

Best ED Song: Flowers of Evil
The song grabs your attention with how creepy it is.

Best Comedy: Devil is a Part Timer
I enjoyed the characters and the premise. It also had some of the funniest lines. C'mon, how can you not love an anime with lines like, "Even after he regained his dark form, he still promised to teach me how to operate the soft serve machine." Lines like that are priceless.

Best Character: Hachiman ( My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU )
Hachiman is one of the best portraits of someone who has created a bubble of self imposed loneliness around himself to keep himself from being hurt. I find him infuriating to watch sometimes since I spent time acting just like him when I was younger and I remember how much I was hurting inside when I acted like that, yet how afraid I was that I would hurt more if I stopped. Hachiman captures that way of acting perfectly.

Best of Spring 2013: Devil is a Part Timer
This was a toss up for me between Henneko and Devil is a Part Timer. While I thought Henneko had the better and more interesting story, it was uneven and felt a little rushed towards the end. The Devil is a Part Timer was consistently good and the pacing of the show felt right.

Yeah i think you're right on that aspect with letting them compete for best animation as well.

But since the animation likely doesn't change, that presents a situation where an anime can win the animation award this season and then the same award next season for basically the same entry (that is, if this award poll will be a continuing thing), as opposed to an anime having a different OP/ED for each cour. Unless that's what you (the host and/or the participants) want, I personally wouldn't want to see the same anime win the same category again and again until it finishes, even if it's just twice. I like limiting the entry to only those that finish their seasons (not cour).

Also, Valvrave the Liberator's current season isn't continuing (the next one airs in the fall, I think), so there shouldn't be any reason to not make it eligible. Besides, how can one tell that any of the currently-ending series won't eventually continue into another season in the future?

Yeah i was thinking that allowing long running anime would possibly be voted for twice, especially in the case of Attack on Titan, being the most popular anime of the season or possibly the whole year. I will go back to keep it to just the ed and op since the long running anime get 2 OPs and EDs
