It's viewed negatively because people like to bitch about others a lot.

I don't really have a problem with it, I mean, I don't really wear any myself but still lol.

Only thing I dislike is when people plaster it on @_@

Because makeup is only a woman thing, makeup is only inspired by vanity, and tattoos only reflect temporary feelings. (heavy sarcasm)

I agree with the original author of this post. Of course everyone is entitled to view things thier own way according to preference, but I think that any form of self expression should be celebrated. Application of makeup is the oldest female ritual still in exsistance, around since the Egyptians. I also happen to like makeup on guys, as it is demonstrative of a bold person.

Anything can be viewed negatively. Make-up is yet something else that is up to interpretation by human beings. So it is viewed so negitively, because it can be. By those whom dislike it for whatever reason.

Google 'Killing Us Softly' for one videographer and researcher's theory on that.

Tattoos have alot more meaning than that to most people, on my 18 im getting one that represents something that saved my life and almost destoryed it, its not something i want to forget and the feelings it cause me will always accore in my life becuase theres no way to stop it. Its going to become a reminded for me that things can become better, even when it doesnt seem like it. My family members that have tattoos have got ones that have meaning and always will for them and the same is said for my friends, its not something that shows temporary feelings, its something that shows who that person is and what they have been though, it will always be a massive part of their life, thats why they want to remember it and get it permanently on them.

I almost died twice and I got a battle-scar. I don't need a tattoo to represent it even further.

Anyways, there's always an exception like in your case.

So your tattoo has meaning for you. How do you know that make up doesn't have meaning for the wearer?

I don't mind make-up. Just don't ask for a "real" man.

As long as it isn't over used I always find it attractive. I don't know how woman learn to use it so well, I can't even imagine how bad I would be at putting it on. I think there is a definite art to knowing how much, what color, where to apply it.

To apply it properly it takes a high awareness of shadows and depth... There is a reason those who do this professionally are known as makeup artists. It truly is an art to pull it off well. That being said, as an art there is nothing wrong with attempting it, but do keep in mind that people are going to critique it if you are going around showing it off.

I think what most people have a problem is that girls (and guys) should love their natural beauty not what most people see as beauty but then again I have lots of friends who love makeup as long as it looks good on you and you know how to put it on why not wear it? Sadly I can't wear makeup at all my skin is far too sensitive for it though I dye my hair and pierce my ears and other things because I think it looks good and choose my own path I wish to walk and no one can change that about me and I would never ask anyone else change either

My problem is when a girl cakes herself up with too much make-up and literally looks fake
The scariest result of that is when they take a shower and come out, I remember some of my ex's really loved makeup and after they took a shower and came out I couldn't even realize them LOL
