I don't wear makeup. I don't need makeup. I think if you need to wear makeup everyday and put a lot of it on, you aren't that confident. I know my face is so clean and smooth, and the only makeup I wear is lipstick. All the others girls were makeup to cover up their skin, and I think they shouldn't. The world views it negatively because it's not natural as some people on this thread say, and it is not you. I don't care if you're using for celebration though, or prom. I've only put on makeup ( excluding lipstick ) two times in my life and it was for an party. I don't see why people need it.

Where I come from, NOT wearing it is frowned upon - at least if you're a woman. And aside from red lip gloss, I don't wear any. I figure, if a guy can look good without it, why can't I?

Why is it viewed so negatively? It shouldn't be. Because you wear make-up doesn't make you fake or superfical. It's the same for tattoos. Why do people get tattoos? As most people see it, our body is a blank canvas and you can create what you want with it. I mean you like wearing clothes that make you feel cool or pretty right? then what's the difference in wearing make-up? I wear it because I feel pretty (Also I wear it because I'm actress) and I feel good about myself/ I' happy with the way I look without it and I can live going out without it too. Wearing make up is like making your face art is as the same for wearing clothes and having tattoos.

-So what are you're thoughts?

I looked to see if it's a dupicate but couldn't find it. So if it is please lock it, thank you!~

I really didn't know it was that looked down upon. Honestly, I like when a girl wears a little bit of light makeup maybe just to accent some of her features. Too much is, well... Too much. Lol. I don't see the need for girls to become dependent on the stuff growing up through school, either.

Like, in High School, just because a girl isn't wearing makeup, they shouldn't feel bad about it. That's kind of ridiculous.

I am fine with a woman wearing makeup. It just gets weird when they really cake it on though and I've known a few women who do that. I have also known women who completely pluck out their eyebrows and pencil them back on. NOT attractive.

I prefer a girl who goes a little lighter on the makeup. If she puts a little more on from time to time, that is fine as long as she doesn't go nuts with it.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if everyone painted their faces every day with temporary tattoos or what have you. Could be interesting.

I would hope most men use at least a few basic cosmetics. Moisturizers and deodorant. The "real me" prefers not to have cracked lips and smelly armpits, anyway.

Here's my controversial opinion:
Make-up is useful for not looking like a ghost under stage lights, so it is not always non-functional.
Because of the fact that almost all girls wear it, we girls feel like we need to compete. Guys that say that they would only date a girl whom doesn't wear make-up are going to have trouble finding one that matches or betters in beauty to an average-looking girl whom wears it.

MOST ATTRACTIVE GUY TYPE JUDGED FROM REACTIONS TO MAKE UP:
Perfectly unbiased guys are the best. These are guys who are not rash and realize things such as how girls have to compete. The opposite of this would be hypocritical guys who get angry and call girls whom wear a little make-up 'deceivers'. I call them hypocritical because wearing nicer clothes makes a person look better, just as wearing make-up can make a person look better and it's only natural to want to look good. A nice, unbiased guy wouldn't date someone whom wears a lot of goo but looks like a troll without it. He would accept an attractive girl who doesn't wear make-up or someone who wears some to enhance their features. All humans care about looks, even the blind feel better if they think that they are attractive. Some care about looks more than others but everyone cares. It's not shallow, it is human nature. Our brain thinks: 'More attractive, healthier!' subconsciously, and we can't really stop it.

It's more often viewed negatively because some girls-- SOME GIRLS-- overdue it and they end up looking like a clown trainee.
Like in all honesty, have you seen Visual Kei bands' makeup? Awkward moment when guys' makeup are better than girls'.

Don't get me wrong, I wear makeup myself but... you know if you're gonna do something... do it right. Especially when you're around people, judgment is inevitable so only wear something you ultimately care for and expect to be judged. Otherwise, follow the norm. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Less is definitely more, in my case.

I don't really see where the harm in wearing makeup is. Although, I prefer natural-looking makeup. Or at least makeup that isn't super bright-colored or too flashy. Of course, in my opinion, if a person wants to do their makeup that way, they have every right to.

1. Don't wear cheap (harmful) makeup.
2. Do your makup to fit the occasion you set for yourself.
3. Look sexy, pretty, cute, and feel awesome about yourself.
4. Don't give a shit what others think if it makes you happy.

Make should accentuate your appearance and should look natural in this time period. It will change again just give it time. Then again stop listening to the ultra feminist they tend to be very negative people an try to tell people how they should think an feel.

I think this question should stop being discussed because it's always bullshit responses and you really shouldn't concern yourself with what the opposite sex, or anyone really, thinks of how you dress to feel comfortable or happy with yourself. Fuck them.

Anyways I hate make-up. I believe a woman should be natural and in tune with her real self. A girl who lives in the wild, has messy hair, hairy legs. That's real beauty, the beauty of nature.
