Just read Black Clover. I am not going to continue with it, it was way too generic. The whole underdog who sucks at everything but gets a special power is really overdone.

I honestly don't understand the disdain towards reading another manga that uses "overdone" tropes. I can read and watch underdog stories as many times as possible and I'd still probably enjoy it (so long as each of them share differences in the plot ofc).

Similar to how people love crapping on Byakuya/Levi type characters because "quiet badass" is overdone. Why give a sh*t? Doesn't change the fact that they're badasses...

I will admit that the more unique the manga, the more enjoyable it is. So maybe I'm just overoptimistic or something

I never read BC yet, though, so I really can't place an opinion on that.

My biggest problem is that the main character is like if you took Naruto from the beginning of Naruto, and made him even louder and more obnoxious. This series so far has felt especially like a rip-off of Naruto. The MC is loud, obnoxious, keeps screaming he is going to become Wizard King, he is extremely weak but he gets a special power that makes him stronger than other people, also just about everyone looks down on him. Add to that the fact that he is an orphan. It's friggin Naruto in a Fairy Tail setting. He even has a stoic handsome black-haired rival who is a genius and everyone expects to be great.

Okay, I'll admit, it sounds A LOT more similar to Naruto than I thought.

But even then, I honestly don't mind it that much. Would I like a bit more originality? Certainly, but that isn't gonna turn me off at al, so long that BC doesn't have their first major Arc being about travelling to a water-based land where a trap and a tall scary guy are the next antagonists.

I'm okay with similar characters. Not okay with vividly/clearly identical plots.

I suppose I need to read this soon, though. Your description of the MC is like at least 85% identical to Naruto.....

Despite seeming like a mash up of popular shonen titles, I've really enjoyed Black Clover. I thought chapter one was great, and I enjoyed the second chapter even better. So far, I think this has the most potential of the new ones that I've read. I like Kagamigami, and I love the mystery genre, but I fear that it is a bit too plain to last for too long. There's nothing there that really sucks you in, but I'd love to see it succeed though. Read the first chapter of Cyborg Roggy, and is anybody else feeling like this is Hi-Fi Cluster all over again? I actually liked Hi-Fi, but I couldn't really get into the first chapter of Roggy. I obviously haven't read Ultra Battle Satellite yet, but given what illustrations I've seen, as well as a preview description I've read about, I'm getting a sort of Takama Ga Hara vibe.

I know that Isobe is staying at the end of the magazine now, but why is that exactly? Anybody know the reason?

Ouch, didn't expect Gakkyu Hotei to be so far down. I am not liking it very much personally, but I thought a lot more people liked it.

I really hope World Trigger goes up a bit more cause the last few chapters have been awesome in my opinion.

I was also surprised with Ultra Battle Satellite. It seems pretty cool. I've heard some people say this was a weak crop of new series but I have been really liking most of them even if they come off very generic or like a mix between popular series.

UBS first chapter was actually better than I expected it to be, and I think it has room for growth. Of the new series, I still like Black Clover, and Kagamigami better, but UBS is good too. Still not completely sold on Roggy yet, even after chapter two.

I'm disappointed to see Gakkyu Hotei so low. I'm really enjoying the series, and it brings some fresh air into Jump because of it's uniqueness. I fear it may be getting axed with Takujo no Ageha at this rate.
