well you would definitely not want this to be the only computing option you have, a desk top or what ever. but for surfing the net and writing and carrying around I think I will like it. just not sure about the video thing yet- youtube works but then that is owned by google so...
anyone use it on that yet?

Youtube plays well because it is probably using html5 instead of flash. Flash is terrible on Linux/ChromeOS and is even flaky on a high powered desktop.

I thought it's not yet globally introduced? Or is beta stage already over? :O http://www.youtube.com/testtube looks it's still not global

Lolz, I'm typing this on a Chromebook.

In regards to if it's good or not,

Eh...It's OK.

Nothing more, nothing less, Just 'OK'.

Nothing too outstanding or out of the ordinary

Chromebooks are more or less glorified tablets, Their good for web surfing but not really the best for gaming and watching videos

Html5 isn't global on desktop but both mobile/tablet apps use html5 because Adobe dropped their android flash support in 2012. They also have the youtube app installed on Chrome so i bet it is also using their html5 standard since flash is glitchy at best on linux.

Yeah, it's not the best. I have a chromebook (I'm using it right now) and it isn't that good. For instance, to write an essay, it saves in this google thing, but no other computer opens it. And, when I tried to print it, it needed to connect wirelessly, but my printer isn't so new-fangled. So, you would have to save it as a pdf file, hoping that nothing is wrong because you can't modify the pdf file. Then, you'd have to save it to a thumb drive, then you can open it on other computers and print it.

Also, just don't open scratch pad. Just don't do it. Turn it off.
