yes, it's actually sickening that the "NEWS" on Tv is now 98% entertainment, 1% sports, and 1% world/domestic events. Even when i listen to the radio, they have entertainment news for 15 minutes, yet political or world events are 30 seconds. Even when you do watch the news, stuff thats actually important is quickly scrolled at the bottom of the screen, claiming that "they are giving real news" but obviously, they don't want to "bore" the viewers. Even CNN is becoming pathetic because they are starting to give importance to entertainment news.

america, it seems the the first thing that pops up on our screen when we hit our homepage (yahoo) we see what is most important by our society standard.
of course it is quite unsettling knowing that people care more about britney making a statue of herself giving birth than it does about genocide in darfur.
everyday i sit down, i am informed about how a sports team won or a pop star got knocked up, and how even if they did go into world affairs it would be short and brief(the datebook is even bigger than 1 week of the world section)
even when i was young britney was all the news, more so infact that i hadn't even learned about rowanda till i was a sophomore.
to sum this all up it seem that america seems to be more interested in star search or loving new york than it does about ireland civil wars or gene research, which is disheartening(sad!)
my question to you is are you better off in your nice soft surroundings(ignorance)
or would you yourself wish to brave it out in the unmerciful, cruel, and corrupt world of ours(africa is by far the worst, the government seems more interested in making a little extra money that they sell the grains that are shipped to them from the un and ment for the starving people who had a bad harvest, are poor, ect.)?

Oh THANK GOD I'm not the ONLY person who feels this way!

The city I live in is OBSESSED with sports. Look at the daily newspaper and the headline has SOMETHING to do with the Indianapolis Colts or Pacers. I HATE IT! My fgeelings about it is, bluntly, I DON'T GIVE A FLYING F--K ABOUT IT...GIMME THE NEWS, ALREADY ! And the local/county taxes have QUADRUPLIED in the past year, just because the city THINKS we need a new areana....for the freekin' Colts to play in. The old arena was only 10 years old and still in good condition, so yeah, I'm pi--ed over having to pay for something I don't think is necessary and for something I DETEST in the first place.

And, yeah, it is a sad declaration of just how far we, as Americans, have sunk, as far as our priorities are concerned. It makes me worry about Karma, and just what is eventually going to happen to this country.
