im not sure if this is the appropriate place to ask this but im gonna ask anyways.
how hard is it to make or write a manga? i used to go to art class in high school and was kinda good at it but that was like in my freshman year and never went again since i didnt like my teacher. and i want to make my own manga and doujinshis of my fave anime or mangas. can i put real names (restaurant, movies, anime, towns, etc.) when a character is mentioning something? and if i cant draw can i make a story and have someone else to draw it for me? what are some tips and things that you need to warn me before making a manga and what is a good place to publish it for money or just wanting to let people read some of my creations?

You might want to ask over in one of the Creative forums:

Artist's Corner
Writer's Corner

While we're a bit more lax about personal threads over there,( because they were started as a way for folks to share their own work and get feedback), it would be great, if you do start a "Manga Advice" thread there, to reword it a little so that it can easily be used as a thread for folks to continue to share tips, and thoughts, and ask questions, even after they've answered your specific questions.

(You've already done a nice job of it with the range of questions you are asking--but framing them more explicitly as not just something you want to know but as things that anyone considering creating manga might want to know, would help keep a thread going with new ideas and new questions for benefit to many.)

It is true. There is currently no Crunchyroll Manga for your country.

Per the manga announcement in site news:

"While we try to secure as many countries as possible (and we are launching Manga in 170 countries!), there are a few that can not access the Manga service today (South Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, Algeria, Lebanon, Belgium, Brazil, China, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand), we apologize and will keep working on securing more territory rights!" [emphasis mine].

Hi there! Unfortunately this Manga Help thread is not the Help you are looking for. (See first post). What you want is the Manga Support forum. Or you can report the problem using the Contact Us link.

I'm from Finland and I'm getting all blanks on your manga section. It looks like you wouldn't have anything up in there.

I'm trying to look for the serie Uchuu Kyoudai since I heard that you guys are taking it over its scanlation. The "just out" banner says that you updated chap 223. [site that shall not be named]'s last chap is 159. Would there be any chance that you guys couold also put your manga updates into [site that shall not be named]? Pretty please?

The site you mention (the name of which I've edited out, to conform with the first of CR's site rules) is not licensed to distribute the content it offers, while Crunchyroll has entered into a relationship with the publisher whereby it has legal right to provide the title here on Crunchyroll and in the Crunchyroll app.

Unfortunately at this time Crunchyroll doesn't have the rights to make it available for your country (Ithat's why you see all blanks), and they certainly would not take the illegal step of sharing the content they have rights to with the site you mention.

I need help. I really want to read Shugo Chara online or as an ebook but no legal manga reading websites seem to have it. I can't buy a paperback version because they don't sell any english manga where I live. Please help me.

Where do you live? Amazon.com sells paperback versions (some new, some used via other sellers), but if that's not a viable option for you, I don't know what else to suggest.

So I'm having troubles here. I want to buy the entire series of HighSchool of the Dead manga series but don't know if I should buy the individual books or save a bit of money and go for the full color omnibus. The full color omnibus would be a nice change but I have a feeling that the color of the blood would wash out all the other colors. I would like to your guys opinions about this and seeing as how our comic shop is having a boxing week sale This is a great chance for me to pick up the series.

I guess it depends on where you live. I myself have all mine ordered into a specialty store. Every new release of a volume, they bring in for me so I can get it faster than waiting or dealing with online. As for whom to order from, when I do need to order things online, I havent been able to beat amazon.

In canada, I usually get my books via Chapters Indigo online. Free shipping over 25 (so two manga?) Maybe where you live has a similar (or same) major books retailer?

I haven't read Highschool of the dead myself. But in terms of usual omnibus vs volumes, this is my experience.

1. Can you still get all the volumes? Often when an onmibus comes out, the volumes stop being printed which can make it difficult to track them all down.

2. How comfortable are you holding large books? I find that the large omnibus are more difficult to read without breaking the spine of the book, and can be a bit less comfortable over long periods of time.

3. I guess it depends on how well it is colored. A full color shaded book can enhance a read, but I find often on large volume color conversion, you can lose some detail and accents during the coloring process. Pretty much, with color, if it isn't drawn initially to be in color, I find it doesn't work as well. The B&W use shading and sketch lines for depth, while for color, you usually want to use a different process.

Anyone know how the manga Area 88 finished? Just watched the anime show and am curious does Shin ever make it back to japan and marry Ryoko? Very curious on that, and since the manga was never finished running in English and seems no fans picked up the series to do it.

So im curious if anyone has read it in Japanese and wouldn't mind me telling how it ends. Enjoyed the show but hate those kind of cliff hangers they give.
