Nobody likes spoilers. Ever. There is not a single person who respects the entertainment they watch that wants any one thing they have yet to see but want to see spoiled for them before they see/read/feel/comprehend it.

I typically spoil things for myself quite a bit. I get a little too caught up in stories sometimes, if something really bad happens in a story then for a few days I feel depressed. One example would be in Gurren Lagann, when a certain character died. That made me depressed.

To sort of soften the blow, whenever I sense that a story may go in a direction that is most likely going to cause me some emotional anguish, I tend to browse some sites for some spoilers.

A few examples of this would be

1. Ichigo 100%: I read 10 chapters of this manga before I stopped reading. Part of this was because I had assumed it would be taken to an ending that I did not like. So rather than invest my time and be disappointed, I dropped it. Then later after the manga finished serialization, I wondered how it ended, looked up the ending, and to my surprise it ended the way I hoped it would, but never in a thousand years expected it to. So I picked it up from where I left off and finished it.

2. School Days : I watched School Days to episode 3, then dropped it. My friend eventually told me about the ending, it was only after he told me that I got motivated to go back and watch the whole series.

3. Zetman : I dropped this because it felt like it would be very dark and depressing. I looked it up, I was right. Did not pick it up again.

4. Blood-C : I dropped this after 2 episodes. I looked up spoilers after it finished airing, decided to watch the rest of it. Unfortunately it was painful for me to sit through eps 3-5 ish. 6+ were great though.

Honestly, I really don't care much about story spoilers. Essentially a story spoiler does two things to me, it either entices me to actually read the manga / watch the show. Or it makes me stop wanting to watch the show / read the manga. To put it simply, I don't really like surprises. I prefer to know what to expect before hand.

The one exception with this is mystery shows. Mystery shows tend to throw out hints, and it's more of a puzzle to me than it is a show. I don't like other people solving puzzles for me.
