Can anyone recommend me some shorter series?

The problem with manga for me is I end up losing interest after a few volumes and then it takes a lot of effort to get back into it. I HAVE read longer series before but the series has to really, really hook me.

I like pretty much anything with a good story and good characters. I am a fan of your typical shonen, harem or whatever. I just want the plot and characters to be good.

Thanks (:

I think both you and Ryuouka should read The Flowers of Evil.

Hello, I need some recommendations.

Any genre that has these types:

Overpowered Characters
Like Mondaiji(Problem Children) or Prince of Tennis

Underdog characters that have a lot of potential.

I recently read Yamadakun and the Seven Witches, and I thought it was a fun, light read. It's on here, you should give it a shot!

Whoops didn't see that but you should definitely read Berserk if you haven't read that yet. It's dark and twisted with a great story.

Anime/Manga that is about studying, or an A student/honor student studying. Basically I want to watch/read about a main character striving to get good grades and be in the top of the school/country. I have found that anime about people pursuing careers are awesome Eg: Space Brother, it was really inspirational and motivation.

So I just finished reading the last Bleach volume (60) available in English and I am looking for something fairly similar, being related to modern Japan and katana wielding people to kill time until the next Bleach volume is translated. Any recommendations would be nice as I am not too familiar with manga scene,

I would like some recommendations of mangas to read.

1. I'm not picky on genre, so any types is fine.
2. I'm not really looking for a mainstream type of manga since I find them to be over-hyped. I would like some mangas that are kinda discussed and liked by some fans.
