I received an email this morning saying the spice and wolf set would be 74% off. Yet I'm only seeing 20% off. If it was a mistake its a very dissapointing one to make. It makes me feel like it was listed as a lure to open the email....

I'm sure this was just a mistake when the newsletter was set up.
I've just alerted the Store Team about it.

Sincere apologies for any inconvenience.

The actual 74% discount is for Ikki-Tousen. The correct discounts are shown in the body of the email, but the subject line incorrectly attributes the 74% discount to Spice and Wolf.

Also, Spice & Wolf is $20 more than other places. Are you really trying to say you're giving 20% off? Really? I wish you guys did not remove the comments field from the store, or we would be able to prevent people from paying such a ridiculous price.

Worth: $64.98 ... no... it is worth $30.49.
Your Price (with fake discount): $51.99... other site price (with no lies of a discount): $30.49.

Please stop taking advantage of your members.

Edit: This is a request to put back in comments to the store. There is a reason why others sites allow such comments, to help their customers make a good decision. You're stating you're giving them a 20% deal, but it is not, you're actually charging them almost 100% more for the item. That is not right.

I know it's not quite as convenient as the comments, since you have to go out of the store to make posts and read replies, but we do have a sticky thread for discussion of Daily Deals (and I think it would probable be fine to discuss other CR store products there too). See:

That is one step, but it's not very helpful since most people won't even consider looking at that thread.

Edit: I understand Crunchyroll is out to make a profit, which is fine since they are a for profit company, but they are doing it the wrong way. Lying to their customers saying they are getting a discount is terrible. I know it turns me off from ever buying anything from their store without first looking else where. If anything advertise an item is fine, but saying it is worth X and you're getting Y discount is not how you should do business. Be honest with your customers and tell them how much an item is truly worth and how much they are going to pay.

It is disappointing that the email subject line was wrong. I understand how that mix up happened though, since other things are in fact "discounted" 74% off. It is extremely disappointing that I was able to go on Amazon and buy the same thing for $30.49 with free shipping.

They technically aren't lying, the MSRP is $64.98 and they are selling at 20% off that MSRP. The problem is MSRP is not current market value. Right now Amazon and Rightstuf have it for 53% and 25% off respectively. Amazon frequently has discounts on items and the price may go up some in a few days. If Crunchyroll does in fact check current market value when deciding to put a sale up, and say Amazon had it listed at a higher price, it may have just been bad luck that Amazon has a lower price today. On the other hand I would expect Crunchyroll to have an equal or lower price than Rightstuf, since I seem to remember my order of 30 random DVDs coming in a Rightstuf box.

TLDR: Put the comments back on the sale pages so people don't find out they were ripped off after the fact.
